My lift gate only opened 3/4 before it would stop and freeze. I would manually push it all the way open. I noticed the two struts (pistons) were weak which figured for a 10 year old vehicle. I decided to replace both pistons before taking the SUV in to the dealer to fix the lift gate. After replacing the pistons, the lift gate now opened and closed fine. BIG SMILE. Note though… the lift gate is really heavy. So have it braced open before you remove the old pistons.

These are a bit more rigid than the last but I’m guessing they will last a while. Exact fit for my 2011 Buick Enclave. Just needed a flathead screwdriver to remove the old and install the new, 100% recommended
