I have a Yamaha Morphous 250cc scooter with approximately 44mm (1.75″) internal, non-threaded section.
Of all the motorcycle/scooter caps I’ve searched, Amazon and otherwise, this is the only cap I could find in this size range.
The product photos are a bit confusing and you may not be able to see in the photo; there is a 54mm (2″) outer-ring just below the cap itself. This seals to the gas inlet, rather than the inlet making contact with the outer-cap. It’s not noticeable and won’t create any issue, I only mention this because I prefer this compared to the former cap because it appears it will prevent corrosion between the two.
This cap also has a very tight closure that twists over the key-hole. It’s a plastic material; however, in my case I’d prefer plastic as the very small space between metal components allows moisture. This cap appears to reduce that. This is important because any rust will cause problems with the keys and/or removing the cap.
If I could make one small change, I’d prefer a ridge across the top, an elevated area your fingers can grab as a handle, to help rotate the cap. Fortunately in this instance, I don’t need to turn it much at all.
Overall a great find and the dimensions shown in the product photos are accurate.
