I have used similar cables to make superior jumper cables for my car and truck, and I got these for a long (20′) cable for my boat. These are nice clamps, and they come with heavy copper terminal ends that double as one of the jaws in each clamp – this makes the connection direct with no loss from resistance of other connections. It took a little effort and a small flat blade screwdriver to get the jaw/terminal end under the spring that holds it in place, but once you learn to do one the rest are easier. I said they are strong – my wife took both hands to squeeze them open – but that is great to ensure a good connection and to keep them from slipping off the battery terminals.
