SCHUMACHER Model # SC 1469 TWO-BANK ON-BOARD MARINE BATTERY CHARGER is supplied with USER MANUAL. Manual is in both English and French languages. Permanent attached is INPUT 120V AC/60Hz, 3.7A 18AWG Wire with three prong grounded plug. There are TWO OUTPUT 12V DC@15A CABLES with closed loop Ring Connectors on separate Red and Black wires. There is NO MOUNTING HARDWARE supplied with the charger. Four elongated holes ( 2=Top/2=Bottom ) are moulded into the plastic housing for mounting screws.
The Schumacher SC 1469 charger is specifically manufactured for Marine Applications. It is completely sealed with no apparent User access. The input and both output cables, where they meet the charger housing, are encapsulated with strain release sealed connections. All three are secured and tight in the mounting to the Charger. There is one connection option to Marine Batteries and this is with use of closed Ring Connectors. These are attached to individual (Red/Black) wire and secured with plastic cover over connectors and wire. On the RED WIRE is an IN-LINE FUSE inside Rubber Housing. In my opinion and observation this is a well made quality product with good fit and finish.
OPERATION…. Is for both charging and maintenance modes. Supplied from factory preset for AGM batteries the front panel control allows reset for Std ( Standard ) , GEL or OFF. Once set it stays in that mode. Manual start by pressing front panel control is within five seconds. If no press of control after power applied the charger automatically starts in 30 seconds. Then alternates between banks with fifteen minute cycles until fully charged. Automatic at this point shifts into Maintenance Mode. Charger mounted in ventilated space as far from batteries as possibility allows with cable length and space available. LED INDICATOR on face provide full status of Reversed Hookup and Charge Status. I like this charger.
Recommended… Five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Star

I got this for my pontoon boat to keep the battery charged over the winter months when I am not using it. I was excited to get something specifically for marine applications that had some water resistance. The charger is meant to be permanently installed as evidenced by the lugs vice clamps meant to be screwed on the battery terminals. Plus there are four holed tabs for using screws or bolts for install. The wires from the charger to the battery or six feet or so, allowing for enough placement options. However, the cord that plugs into wall power is standard length. Okay if you already have shore power to your boat but my application requires and extension cord, which is not forbidden but not recommended in the instructions. The controls are easy to use and the charger adapts to different battery types (which you set). But the part that really impacted my plans was the warning line in the manual which said not to install in enclosed spaces or where there is no ventilation. On a pontoon EVERYTHING is under seats or in enclosed cabinets. I did not want to leave this charger exposed in the passenger area so I’ll just have to use it as a portable charger that I hook up in the winter and leave on the deck exposed (but under my overall boat tarp), but store in the garage in the summer. I wish it came with the option for clamps for this purpose, not just lugs that require unscrewing battery connections. But if you have a cuddy cabin (with one battery though) this might not be an issue for you.

Amazon warehouse purchase . Was DOA and returned . Sticking with NOCO units going forward. Schumacher used to make a good product (or was known to be a good brand at the very least). Appears things have changed .

This is a super nice battery charger. When I took it out of the box, I was a bit surprised by how nice it is. And how BIG and heavy it is. There is no question that this is a high-quality, heavy-duty charger.
My favorite thing about this battery charger/maintainer is that it is a multi-stage charger. Which increases the lifespan of your battery, and is just a much better way to charge batteries.
The second thing I really like about this charger is that it automatically switches to maintenance mode once the battery is fully charged.
I think this is a top-notch battery charger. I am very happy with it. That said, I do imagine that some people may not like that this charger doesn’t come with any alligator clamps, but that isn’t a problem/issue for me. This is a waterproof, on-board charger/maintainer, so this charger is primarily intended to be used in permanent installations. So, to date I just haven’t run across anything to complain about. And if I ever happen to want a set of alligator clamps, I’m sure that Schumacher will have them available to purchase.
If you have any questions about this Schumacher marine battery charger/maintainer, please feel free to ask, and I’ll try my best to answer. I hope you found this review helpful.

I bought a super large marine battery for my camper. I was tired of charging smaller batteries to keep things running. The first time I used the charger, it charged very quickly. I love it. Very easy to take with you.

Use this to maintain the charge of a Group 31 deep cycle battery and it keeps the battery perfectly charged. Never a problem with over or undercharging. Easy to select battery type, very intuitive controls. Have the battery charger mounted indoors. Never misses a beat!
Excellent charger.

Used a SC1469 to charge two 12V battery banks (200AH each) on my boat. It charged them, but failed to go into maintain mode instead letting the batterys discharge to 11.7 V. There is a constant load of 5A. Schumacher customer service said it cannot maintain batteries with any load on them!

Works perfectly.
