Works perfectly. Top battery hood down seems to be off a bit but functions fine.
Instructions are not the best. I would suggest having a mechanically inclined person help if you are not.

  2. Frank A. Cannariato

Bolts cut into battery case. Instructions incorrect. Now I have to disassemble and buy original battery holder as Instructions call for cutting original case rendering it useless. Pcv valve holder also in bad area. Very angry. Waste of money and time!

  3. robert dean horne

Takes time to install and looks good

  4. Michael J. Zerr

Excellent service. Fast, good price good brand. Excellent experience

I took a gamble and bought this item used at half the listed price.
I guess it was a return but all the parts were included and product never saw the road. I can’t speak to fittament as I modified and used in a van to add an auxiliary battery. I can speak to the quality and it is well built. Saved me a lot of time making my own tray from scratch.

Highly recommend this dual battery tray from Rugged Ridge. I installed it into a 2008 Jeep Wrangler JK. Fit great, instructions are easy to follow and well laid out. No issues with fitment or installation. Also provide a great mounting stand for a dual battery relay kit. Easy access to batteries and wiring. Highly Recommend over other variations.

Took awhile to install just getting the old stuff out was the hardest part looks and fits nicely .

Easy to install with pretty good directions! I have a powerful sound system and needed a second battery to withstand the high output alternator and this did the trick! Only flaw is the mounting holes on the battery bracket. I had to drill a hole in the bracket to make the mounting bolts line up right. Minor problem to have in order to gain the amp boost of running dual batteries!

This is a very well built product, designed to last a very long time.

The instructions on the other hand, need help.

The instructions contain very small pictures that make thing very difficult to understand what the written portion is trying to instruct you to do.

For instance. After removing the old battery tray and cutting and then installing the new battery tray, the instructions inform you to just connect the new fuse tray to the portion of the battery tray that was left behind after cutting (the section that goes under the fusebox and air filter). The problem is that it doesn’t fit as described. You have to “sandwich” the new fuse box tray between the bottom of the old tray and the fusebox tray mount. After cutting off the old battery tray, you’ll notice that the leftover portion of the battery tray is bolted to the bottom of the fusebox/air filter tray. Separate these two parts and sandwich the new fusebox tray between them and bolt them back together. It’s tight but with a little squeezing, they go back together with the new tray between them.

The EVAP solenoid is repositioned but they don’t tell you that the hardened vacuume hoses make this very difficult. You can either replace the hoses with something more flexible, find a better place to install the EVAP solenoid, or, with some very slow and patient meneuvering, you can slowly slide it into place. It might have the hoses bending in strange looking ways but as long as they are not kinked, you should be fine.

Other than that, it’s a pretty good product.

Fits great for a dual battery setup on my 08 jku.
