I purchased one of these 4 years ago because our car sits under a carport and we live in a heavily forested area, starting 15 feet from the carport. Our previous car would often have a mouse or mouse family and I didn’t want that happening with our new car.
During the past 4 years we have seen NO evidence of mice or the local chipmunk population in the car and the repeller is still working.
The device was easy to install; I simply anchored it to a couple of the A/C hoses near the firewall with the included zip ties and attached the wires to the battery on a cable running that way.

My sons 2020 civic wouldn’t start, towed it the dealership- rodents chewed starter not covered under warranty paid 500.00. Less than a week later chewed again!! This time he argued with dealership and they paid for it. We live up towards mountains so we have rabbits, squirrels, mice, coyotes etc., ha was so frustrated knowing that this happened. We bought sticky traps and installed this device. Seems ok however he moved out a month ago. I drive a 2020 Altima- service engine light came on last week. drove it for a week then took it in- rodents chewed up the wires for the engine and oil pressure- $500.00 estimate.. long story short I didn’t want to pay and wanted out of the Altima- traded for 2020 maxima, just put one in my car, we shall see. I am extremely paranoid and cannot afford this to happen again. I also bought car rodent deterrent with peppermint and sprayed the wires and engine. I will report back in a month. We will have to worry for as long as we open this house- we just bought it a year ago lol

DOES NOT WORK, I had a mouse nest built on top of my cabin air filter (this is when I first discovered I had a mouse problem). I cleaned it out and vacuumed my air vents and blower motor. I then installed a snap trap on the shelf behind my glove box next to the cabin air filter. One week later my had a very bad stench in the car and decided to check the mouse trap. There was a big mouse caught in the trap. I cleaned everything up again and installed this rodent repeller. I thought everything was good now but decided to check behind the glove box and pull out the cabin air filter. I found another nest just like the first one. I have cleaned everything up again, sprayed peppermint in the air filter, on the shelf, on all the vents inside and out, set the mouse trap again and I’m hoping for the best. This product did NOTHING!

We have had a TERRIBLE time with mice this year, causing $15,000 damage to our hybrid Lexus. We purchased several different models. The plug-ins DO make a lot of noise and are very flashy. The battery operated model doesn’t make any audible sound, and is currently in the trunk. An under the hood C model was installed in our RAV4 yesterday, and today the car wouldn’t start (though it could be the 6 yo battery needs to be replaced. I will update after we install a new car battery.). The biggest concern is that with 4 units in the garage, we are still catching mice in the traps. We have never had such a problem, and I am hoping beyond hope that we can get this under control! Any advice is appreciated!

Also, note that some units pull more current than others. One said that it only drains the battery after a month and a half. I cannot even tolerate that and find this one is among the least.
I ordered this after finding a nest in my truck which goes months between trips. It worked instantly flashing the LEDs. Obviously, I can’t hear it but we will find out if the mice do.

Mice no longer want to be in my car engine compartment. Works great , less then5 minutes to install.

It’s hard to run a controlled experiment with this item. I park a Maxima in a portable garage (Harbor Freight). Mice get under the hood liner and store little dried berries that rattle and roll around when the hood is opened. I cleaned out everything and reinstalled the liner. I then put this repeller in easily enough ( I found a flat spot where I could use velcro rather than the supplied zip ties) and turned it on. The flashing lights look like they’d be annoying enough to mice, but maybe they think there’s a new disco in the driveway where they can go clubin’ with their friends. I opened the hood recently and the same rattle and roll was happening under the hood liner. (I have had some success with peppermint oil on the ground where I park the car and in little tinfoil and cotton ball packets I put in the vehicle.) We have similar plug in repellers in the house – mice get used to it over time.
