Needed to replace the tailgate cable for a while. These were what I needed and fit exactly on my 2001 Ram. Almost the same weight as original equipment but plenty sturdy enough. Good purchase.

Wrong item was sent or inaccurate description to fit a 2014 RAM tailgate. These cables were roughly 3 inches short in length compared to OEM tailgate cables that were being replaced.

One of my tailgate cables was corroded in half and the other was well on its way. It took just a couple minutes to install these and the tailgate is as good as new. I installed these over the summer, and a few months later they appear to be holding up just fine.
Not sure I could spot any important difference from OEM. Same length, good fit.

I bought these replacement tailgate cables for my 2001 Ram 1500 based on the written reviews. I was led to believe that these were OEM level quality. Almost. They are very very close, but not quite with slightly thinner cables (or possibly thinner plastic coating?) and thinner stamped metal hooks on both ends. With that noted, they do seem to be of decent manufacture and I suspect will last a very long time. 23 years like the originals? Probably not, but I’ll be happy with half that. For the price, there are a great buy. Get them.
