The gas cap seal looks and fits just like the original on our 2012 Beetle Turbo. The CEL had come on and our first thought was the gas cap or seal was causing it, so bought this seal. But later used a code reader which lead to replacing an O2 sensor, which resolved the CEL. Didn’t hurt to replace the gas cap seal though.

My compliments to the supplier for their listing. They practically shouted to ensure I picked the proper seal for my gas cap. Many other suppliers did not do that, and it makes a difference. I had a harder time removing the old seal than I did inserting the new one. Fit is perfect. Since the check light remains off, I guess the seal is as well. This was half the price of the same item from the local VW dealer.

Had the check engine light on my 2012 golf come on. Checked the error code and it was something as simple as replacing the gas cap gasket.

I ordered it to fix my wifes mk6 but didn’t work. We both have same model and same year. I put my cap in her car, turns off the engine check light. I switched the gasket and still turns off the light. Decided to order this gasket to fix the fuel cap but it didn’t work. It is not turning off the engine light with this gasket.

The site said that this would fit my vehicle and once it arrived it was nowhere near thick enough.
