Check engine light was on and I was told to try a new gas cap but Porsche wanted over $100. I then read online that this gasket was available and installed in a minute and check engine light went off. Saved a $100 and a trip to dealership

While the Porsche agency was suggesting to replace the entire gas purge valve and gas tank cap for “just” 1.3k for an 987 base, this little gasket came to the rescue!. So glad I found this seller. Indeed it took a little while, perhaps a couple days of driving the car constantly, before its controller recognized the gas system was fully sealed and self-cleared the engine light. Looking forwards to learn more about this seller and future products!.

This didn’t fix my emissions code BUT it did fit the gas cap really well. I didn’t realize how loose the old seal was and the cap fits much tighter now.

No matter high tight I tried to turn my gas cap, it never was enough to keep the sensors ‘happy’. A quick close-up check on my old seal showed some cracking so this was ordered.
Since the gas cap itself would never wear out, just replacing the one wear component was the way to go.
