    EDIT: March 2021. My first review was from October 2019.

    I was convinced I had injector issues again, 1 specific injector, or suspected harness issues after an issue with a repair a while back. This time it’s stuttering/missing when cold, even at higher ambient temps. (North Texas) it’d take 10 minutes to finally clear up enough to accelerate without it feeling like it was about to lay down. This felt different, more pronounced and at any temp, until it was fully warmed up, and even after sitting for an hour or so after being warm.

    Before looking for someone I can trust to diagnose it (I have a couple of other thing things to do as well) I decided to once again roll the dice and see if RevX would make any difference.

    This time I cranked the cold truck and backed it out of the garage and while it was idling, I poured 2 bottles into the oil fill tube. Cleaned up, tinkered and within 5 minutes went for a drive. This isn’t something I’d ever believe and I’m still perplexed, but there wasn’t even 1 miss, it was smooth as can be. It was a short 5 or so miles in 30-50MPH driving, then parked for just over an hour and back home. It’s an uphill climb leaving the gym and surprisingly it had the smooth power back. I’ve been running it stock for quite a while. All the way home, it was just happier, smoother, accelerates better etc. I know this probably sounds like a chintzy paid ad or something but it’s not. I order a 4 pack last night because it could be delivered early AM (got it at 5:30AM) so I could get it in the motor so I could decide whether I needed to bring it in to someone. I’m sold. The name always made me think of it as a gimmick, but whatever it is, it cleared the stiction as soon as the oil cycled. I’m going to just add 1 bottle every oil change to keep it healthy. I’ll expect my MPG will get may to normal now too.

    Again, I’m not getting anything for this, no one has asked me to do this, it’s just bizarre to me how well it works in my case. If you actually have injector or other issues (FICM) obviously it won’t help at all. In my case, it has a rebuilt, slightly hot FICM, and all the 6.0 fixer-up stuff (studs, bullet proofed, Power Max turbo, exhaust etc.)

    ++++++++ ORIGINAL REVIEW
    I’ve had my Excursion with 6.0 since new. A few years ago I started having cold start issues and while I’ve never really subscribed to additives, I gave Hot Shot Secret a try. By the 2nd day cold starts cleaned right up and the truck actually ran even better.

    Fast forward to this year. Not really any cold start issues, but definitely what I’d call stuttering until the oil temp came up. It seemed like injector issues based on how it started, ran cold but even noticed subtle stuttering/missing at consistent hwy speed. I noticed it was smoky also, as if it wasn’t making enough boost for the fuel.

    In March I tried HSS again although this was different from the first time. Not really any changes, so I was preparing for injectors. Last week I figured $75 was worth a long shot try with RevX, and it was time for an oil change. I kid you not, after getting done, running it to get everything circulated, I took a drive and want able to find the stutter. The next day, same thing. Being cautious, I gave it another couple days and I can’t deny, the stuttering was gone, completely. Starts were smoother and no smoke, even under quick acceleration where at least a little swoft of smoke would be normal. It’s idling smoother, running cleaner, smoother power and mpg are back where they should be.

    To ad, I run a tuner, written right and specific to the changes to the truck but also a little more aggressive, to say the least.

    I think, from my experience, RevX is better for over all injector cleaning. HSS also works but I think it depends on of the actual problem is. I’d absolutely recommend RevX at the first thing to try.

    FYI, I did this on a whim, expecting to be replacing injectors, so I’m thrilled how well the truck is running now. It’s better all around which is to be expected when contribution is so out of whack. Now way can the truck run right with such a difference injector performance. This is obviously critical with turbo diesel.

    So I have a 6.0 and I added two bottles to help treat and prevent stiction issues with my injectors. Frankly, its hard to say if it helped as i) the weather warmed up and ii) I have also been using Marvel Mystery oil additive to my fuel. I cannot afford to do the necessary scientific experiment to truly show that this stuff is beneficial BUT I can say that it does not seem to make things worse. The engine does start up smoother after cooling overnight (again its summer so the mornings are now 15 C vs Feb at -5 to -10 C). This stuff is not cheap (vs. Marvel Mystery Oil) though.

    First off yes it kind of expensive but the results are worth the cost. I started experiencing really bad stiction in my 06 F250 6.0 powerstroke back in 2020 and I’ve been running Rev-X since and its honestly helped out a ton. I’ve even gone between oil changes where I didn’t add any and almost immediately I could tell a difference between warm up time, and be able to drive my truck before warmed up. With Rev-x I can start my truck and let it run for 5 mins and be able to take off and without it more like 15 min warm up time. Every ones experience is different but in my experience hands down an awesome product to use. I’ll probably still run it even when I ended getting new injectors.

    My 6.0 Powerstroke starting running poorly when cold. Not unusual for a HEUI system, and all the forums talk about adding RevX. I don’t generally buy into miracle cures but 90 bucks is a whole lot less than 8 injectors do I gave it a try. Before this, the truck wouldn’t run well enough to drive until the oil temp was over 50 degrees C. It would shake and rattle, blowing huge clouds of black smoke on startup.
    Almost immediately it started to improve, and after 2000 km, it’s like a different truck. Much smoother, very little smoke and I can dtive it cold. Highly recommended.

    After reading the reviews i decided to give this product a try.Like most of the other comments
    I noticed a big difference after 20km run.
    I was having rough cold start symptoms in
    My 6.0 Powerstroke had very low
    Power after ten min warm up and I was told
    By my diesel shop that my truck was soon in need of injectors.
    Much to my disbelief after adding Rev X the truck is running much smoother it still has a little stumble at cold start but nothing like before and even when the trucks a little cold like before the power is now there almost as if
    the truck was warm.
    I donno but I’m extremely pleased with this stuff! Will definitely keep using it even at the price tag
    I have used Fords anti friction additive for transmissions and rear ends with success also.
    It appears this product is somewhat similar and
    Doesn’t smell as bad haha

    You gotta run this stuff if you have a ford 6.4 powerstroke. Gets rid of the valve train noise and noisy injectors and also if they stick open (stiction). So if your noticing a lot of fuel in your oil from blowby you may have injectors stuck open. Or maybe regeneration issues if not deleted. Worn rings…. But it’s worth a shot. Worked in my application within 100km
    My only gripe is that it costs so much.

    We have watched video after video of people pouring this stuff into their vehicles for the past couple of weeks. Everyone claims to have such great success….

    We decided to try it for ourselves. I have a 2003 Ford Excursion 6.0L diesel V8. Biggest problem engine Ford has put out since the last century. We have had problems from replacing turbos, injectors, EGR issues, etc….it goes on forever. However, I love my excursion and I’m willing to do what it takes to make it run. However, we were recently told it needs new injectors….again…. This is a very costly process as most of you might know. It starts really rough, even when plugged in. If you start it 15 minutes before you go anywhere, it might get warm 5 minutes before your destination and in the meantime, your top speed is 15 MPH because the damn truck won’t run! Let me also tell you we bought this vehicle almost new and had never owned a diesel before. I didn’t realize we should be adding diesel additive at each and every fill up, in fact, we had never done it. That would be approximately 7 years of never running an additive. Well we decided to try this stuff. Honestly, it was like all the videos that you see on youtube. It really works. No more plugging in the rig during the middle of summer, starts right up with just a little puff of black smoke and no more missing. I wouldn’t say that it never misses any more at all, but it is very very rarely. We pull an 11,000 trailer and a pontoon boat with our rig, and have been using it all summer. It’s been awesome. I now use this stuff and full synthetic! I have personally put 10,000 miles on the rig using REVX. 10,000 I was told we needed all new injectors. I would pay twice as much for this stuff every oil change and be happy to do so!

    I called REVX to find out what the heck they put in this stuff and why it works so well. Basically they said it cleans up the oil and doesn’t break down. So the longer it runs in the engine, it just keeps cleaning. They also recommended that I run a fuel additive. I did buy theirs but I didn’t see a big difference between theirs and what you would by at your local auto store. My MPG are still in the dump, but that’s okay, it’s running and it’s running great! Keep it up REVX.
