Had to get the burrs cleaned out before it fit over the selector shaft. But worked.

I purchased for the tool and it did the job. I used it on a 1991 4l80e case with the short shift shaft. The seal on the other hand I do not trust just because it is a no name seal and buying a good one is cheap insurance.

So, the part worked great, other than I had to buy a longer bolt because the one provided wouldn’t reach to get the seal out. Other than that, it worked great.

Es una herramienta excelente para la extracción e instalación del reten que va en la palanca selectora de cambios, la recomiendo

Removal tool does not fit over the shaft. Installation tool fits fine, but I cannot get the seal out.Repeat-DO NOT BUY
Edward Sparks –
The removal tool worked well but the installation tool would. It fit over the shaft I filed all the burrs of the shaft but still would not fit. I used a deep well socket instead
Edward Griner –
Very good, puller worked great

I have an Allison 2200 RDS in a Hino that was leaking at the shaft. Wasn’t sure how to replace the seal – do you have to drop the pan and push it out, or what? Found this, and my main concern was that if I used this device and screwed up the seal but couldn’t get it out, well then I now have a larger leak that means I have to really get in there and figure out how to replace it legit right away.
So I bit the bullet and removed the linkage, and had to file a little in order to get it to fit over the shaft. Count on having to file – I imagine that every shaft will have some imperfections and this thing fits extremely tight. My first go brought out only part of the seal. My second go brought out a bit more. On my third, I tightened it in significantly tighter, and lo and behold, it came out. There is some metal in the seal, and you really need to bite into it to get enough grip on it.
After removing it, and looking behind it, I don’t think there’s a way to push it from behind. Meaning, I think that a device like this is your only way of doing it. But, I could be wrong.
Putting the new seal in is a piece of cake. Just make sure you put it in the right way.

Worked perfectly after I put a spacer between the bolt & and the shifter shaft to compensate for the shorter T350 shifter shaft.
