Trip –
The strap on my 2005 Explorer gas cap broke years ago, and I had been perching it on the open gas hatch. Unfortunately it fell and broke apart at the last fill-up, so I ordered this as a replacement. I unscrewed the prior broken strap with a nut driver and reinstalled this one. This was a perfect replacement.
Trip –
The warning light came on saying Check Fuel Cap, so I did and realized the threads were smoothed out, meaning a less than tight fit and possibly lower gas mileage than we might be getting. This fit well and works. The hardest part was getting the gas cap button out to thread through the new cap retainer and connect to the car. lol
