I ordered these for a 2016 Ford Edge that had a Fan issue – where the fan would not shutoff occasionally. These relays are marked w/ the FoMoCo logo, and stated to be made in the USA. Certainly these are NOT Ford products. I’ve attached a few pictures of what the relay looks like after about 2 months of being installed. The Plastic housing is clearly melted on 4 of the 5 sides of the relay. The relay also has an odor of ‘electronic burn’. The vehicle started producing a CEL with a code of PO481. These relays don’t appear to be able to handle heat – as you would find under the hood – and a sustained latch where these are supplying a considerable amount of amperage for a sustained period of time. In all fairness – I haven’t ruled out whether the fan itself is pulling too much current and exceeding the 30A rating of this relay. But the original Ford relay did not have any signs of thermal distress – even when it ran for a long period of time after the vehicle had been shutoff. This kit comes with 2 relays and I have installed the 2nd one to see if the ECM code goes away and evaluate how the relay is built to handle the thermals of being installed in an engine compartment.

Tested and working in my ’16 F150. Removing the relay from the fusebox is a good way to prevent theft of the vehicle. Only thing is, if you lose it your screwed if you don’t have a back-up(s). That is where this product comes in. Good price too.

No problem installing and it works just like the original part. Price for one at the Ford dealer was close to $40. Buying two for less than $10 is a no brainer.

My truck wouldn’t start. I would hear a slight click under the hood but that was it. Checked the battery and it was ok. There is a box under the hood with a bunch of these relays. One is the Engine Start Relay. I replaced this one and it fixed it. My son has an old Honda Civic that wouldn’t start too with the same symptoms. Same problem! Fixed two vehicles for an inexpensive package of two relays. If your truck or car doesn’t start and your battery is ok, this is an easy fix and some cheap to try. These are good quality and the exact replacement for the truck.
