Well, mine lasted EXACTLY 6 Months. BUMMED. Went to open my Trunk today, not working again. Smh. I waited to write a review to see how long it would last. Feels Quality, but obviously isn’t. In case you’re wondering , I have a 2012 VW GTI MK6. Bought one on CarParts.com this time. Lifetime Warranty. Free Replacement if it ever fails. So go there and try that one instead. The one I just purchased from CarParts.com was $37 including shipping. 👍

Dealer wanted $600 to replace the faulty tailgate latch. Under $30 here on Amazon, and it only took a couple minutes to install. IDK if this will last 9 years like the original, but hopefully it will last a couple years. I’ll report back if/when it fails.

It failed today. So, it lasted just short of 3 months. Even though it is only 10 minutes to replace, I don’t want to do this 4 times a year. I paid $250 at the dealer for an OEM one on the way home today.

Purchased and installed. Worked for 1 month, now we are back to having the same issue as the factory part…except the factory part lasted years before breaking.

Fit my 2011 GTI. Install was okay. Installed December 2022, it’s now October 2023 and it already doesn’t work. Ordering from the dealer this time.
