Shermie –
Worked amazing, good price. If you get the official part from VW it’s over $300. Can’t complain fast shipping. Easy to install.
Ginger Snapped –
Wife was complaining constantly about the rear hatch in our 04 Jetta Wagon not staying open and even crashing onto her head when it would stay open some times.
These little shocks of fury work like a champ. Fought like hell to get one to install, ad I couldn’t open my hatch att the way due to a roof cargo box, smashing my hand, fingers or any other part getting in the way and you “try” to compress it to connect. Ya don’t be that guy like me. Second one installed without issue when I did it smarter and got the hatch to open all the way.
With both installed when ya open it, the hatch will just rise fully open on its own and stay open. We will see how long they last now.
Carlos Salvetti –
As any of these shocks, the clip is always a pain to handle. Besides that, right size, right product, perfect functionality, a must if your door does not remain open by itself. These shocks have a limited lifespan, so when they wear out, I will be buying another set again.
Craig –
These were for my grandson. He says they are very good.
Some Guy –
Bought these due to the great reviews; they were misleading. These struts are too short and clicked when the hatch opened all the way on its own. They are so poor that one side popped off when opening and wedged itself against the body causing a GIANT scratch. STAY AWAY
Hotrod –
Anyone can replace the old ones for these in just minutes. No special tools or skills required.
Glenn Frank –
Went on a ’04 Golf TDI hatchback. Install was simple and they work great. Honestly they push the hatch up so hard I find myself catching it by hand and easing it into position for fear it’ll eventually bend something.
Alex Caccoma –
This is our second set on a 2005 VW Golf, that does not get the hatch opened everyday. The actual gas shock still worked well on set 1, the connecters failed and would pop off as you closed the hatch.
For the money and how quick they install, we bought them again.
Carlos Salvetti –
perfect fit. Quality product. Holds the hatch up very securly.

I bought these for the lift gate on my old 2004 VW Passat wagon because my old Liftgate Struts were weak and leaking. These went on very easy and work so much better. I also liked that they were anodized or painted black instead of the silver like I had on my old ones. They look and match the car better.
