Form fit and function are spot on. Been running these for 6 months now and still just as stiff as day one. They push up and hold the rear hatch so well you’ll be confident reaching into the back even in a really hard wind. You’ll probably even forget about the fact that you can hit the back of your head on the latch mechanism as you stand back up after retrieving whatever you were getting! (Ask me how I know! Haha)

This was the best replacement for the gas struts on my Acura RSX Type S. If you are doing a strut replacement for the first time, you need a kit like this. You cannot just order a strut replacement that doesn’t have the bolts included. The original struts are married to the bolts, so you have to take the struts off with the bolts and you need replacement bolts to put new struts on. After that, if you ever need to replace them again, you can remove the struts, because they have a clip on them. Replacement was easy, took less than 10 minutes (be sure to prop up the hatch). Everything working great now!

The parts were a perfect fit. The packaging was crazy though. They were sent in a box 5 times the size of the shocks without bubble wrap or anything to stop them from rolling around in transport. I was surprised that they arrived undamaged. I installed them & am happy to report that they work perfectly. I’m VERY happy with this product & it was much cheaper than the auto parts store!

This perfectly fits all Acura RSX years just like the other reviewers have stated. Once you’ve replaced your old struts with these they have no problem keeping the door up while still being easy to close with one hand. The door will also open all the way once you’ve lifted it a couple inches.
Something to keep in mind with the old OEM studs is to not strip the nuts head. If the bolt isn’t budging even after blasting it with penetrating oil just jump straight to cutting it off with an angle grinder or cut-off wheel. I was able to remove my left struts without problems, but I noticed my wrench was starting to strip the head. If I didn’t stop it would have completely rounded it out requiring more specialized tools. Since the space is too small to fit a brake line wrench the only option is cut off the top and throw a socket on there and either zap it out with an impact or a normal wrench.
Pros: Better than OEM permanently pressed design for ease of use and future replacements.
Cons: None, unless you consider the plastic heads a con… it’s not.

My rsx has a rep spoiler on it and the shocks only worked in warm weather. these are a huge change. There is actual resistance trying to close the hatch now and unlocking the trunk slightly lifting and the shocks pull it up quick. Install was easy guess We’ll see how long they last

Installation was easy but after installing the struts the head of one of them tweaked. Very cheap. Unfortunately I waited too long to install them and now can’t return them. Would not recommend

So in case you are wondering, yes these do fit the Acura RSX (all years)
The install is very simple but do yourself a favor and hose down the original stud bolts with a penetrating lubricant prior to trying to remove them. I’ve done this job twice. The first time I didn’t use a spray lube, stripped the bolts, and a 20 minute job took hours. The 2nd time I lubed them up and it was done in 20 minutes.
This package comes with new stud bolts which is nice, and washers. I have no complaints, this is from a initial install point of view. The hatch still closes easy enough with one hand, and opens itself after you lift it just a few inches. Does what its supposed to do.
