    The Struts work well just wish they would hold up during the winter months. Rear hatch still like to sag at the top during winter months.

    Purchased for the main lift gate on a 2011 Nissan Pathfinder. This is the second time i’ve replaced them; first time was in 2014 with the same StrongArm set i just installed. The OEM lasted approximately 3 years and the StrongArm replacements installed in 2014 held up almost a full 6 years. These are great replacements and the install takes less than 5 minutes.

    Highly recommend having someone assist you with holding up the lift gate or using a piece of 2×4 lumber to hold it up while you replace one arm at a time. The old ones pop off using a prying motion in the groove (just under the C-clip) with a small flat-head screwdriver and the new ones simply snap in place. I cleaned the ball mount with some WD-40 to make snapping the new one on a breeze.

    Works like new again. Perfect fit and easy to install. 5 minutes if you know what you are doing. 10 minutes if you don’t, but you are mechanically inclined. Otherwise, seek help.
    You should have a friend hold the door up for you or use a 2×4 or something to prop it up while you work. When you pop one of those struts loose, the door is coming down, and it is heavy. If you don’t have something to hold it up, you will be working one handed.
    A long slender flat blade screwdriver will pop the clip loose, and you may need it to pry the old strut off. Just be careful of the paint. Pry lightly against the mounting bracket. The old clip does not have to come all the way off. Just pry it up enough for it to stay up by itself. Then the strut will come off.
    You do not have to pop the clip up on the new strut. Go at an angle and wiggle it on. It will pop into place.
    On my ’06 Pathfinder there is no left and right. They are both the same.

    Holy smokes these are great and easy to install. I lived with a sagging tail gate for almost a year because I feared it would be very expensive and difficult to replace. It seriously took me less than 10 minutes! Now the door flies up and stays up, even in the 40 degree weather! I highly recommend this product.

    I have a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder, and the recommended size for my vehicle was perfect!

    I installed a pair of these struts on my 2008 Nissan Pathfinder lift gate and it now works perfectly.
    It took longer to lift the tailgate, place a ladder to support the lift gate, than it did to remove and install the struts.
    My son-in-law ordered a pair of these same struts for his vehicle lift gate, and lift window,the following day and is happy with them
    There is a video you can watch which shows you step-by-step instructions.
    I would recommend these struts, great product for the money.

    I was hoping that these were stronger than the ones I have. My original didn’t fail, but I thought not strong enough to lift to the maximum. These are about the same but than I realize that this door has more electronics in it than my 2006 pathfinder that could be the difference. Otherwise they work.

    Took about 15 minutes to install these on my wife’s 2008 Pathfinder. Tailgate works beautifully now, and I thought that there may be an issue with them working too well. My wife is petite, so I was worried she’d have a difficult time pulling the hatch down, however that is not the case. These lift the hatch up smoothly and firmly, but you don’t have to be Heman to pull the hatch down. It comes down just as smoothly. Also when I was purchasing these, Amazon’s site said they would not fit my 2008 pathfinder even though the product description lists that year. These do in fact, fit the 2008. I checked with the seller prior to my purchase and they kindly confirmed that for whatever reason Amazon has that part wrong.

    Replacement of old pieces with new ones took 10 minutes on a 2005 Pathfinder… (no instructions but easy to figure out)Delivery was faster than a 2 days delivery ordered the same day : very nice

    Con : the gate is now very slow to open. I assume it has to do with the product being new. It is REALLY slow but opens all the way, unlike the old parts who would only hold half way.
