Getting the stabilizer bar completely off the car was a bit of a pain but makes installing these bushings much easier. I found that after unbolting everything the best way to get the stabilizer bar out with removing the exhaust was to turn the shifter side bushing sideways and removed the exhaust from the hangers and gave me just enough room to get in and out. Old rubber bushing slipped right off, didnt need any tools to remove the transmission side bushing other that my hands. Greased every thing thoroughly and the urethane bushings slipped on no problem. Shifting feels more solid and kinda notchy how i like.

Fitment was perfect, installed on 91 civic wagon with factory d series shift linkage. Tightened everything up feel a lot better then wore out stock rubbers.

I’ve tried buying the budget sets before and you end realizing where those savings are being passed down from… If you don’t want to have to be replacing these again within the next year just pay the extra $2-$3 and get something that you can rely on. This kit has great quality polyurethane bushings in it and even the guide sleeves are made noticeably higher grade of materials. Trust me, it may be a few dollars more at the moment but you’ll save yourself the trouble of having to replace the bushings again and the cost of getting these the second time around anyway!

Bought this product because my shifter on my 1999 Honda Civic EX Sedan 5-speed was really loose. So loose in fact, that just trying to shift going down the road or starting out in first was impossible to do smoothly. The car would jerk and shutter, especially starting out on hills. I have not driven the car that much since installing the bushings this evening, but I will post an update when I have a better understanding of how they perform and hold up. Initial reactions are very positive though. For $11, free two-day shipping (thanks, Prime!), and about an hour and a half of your time, these are great.
I just had to take the old bushings out, squeeze them through the arm hole and put the new ones in after greasing them up. The back “T” part, towards the rear of the shifter was a bit more tricky, it’s a 12mm bolt that requires a socket extension, but after you get the bolts out, you still have the challenge of getting the old bushing off the metal shift stabilizer rod. I ended up pulling off the old rubber one since it was flexible enough, but the end of the shift stabilizer rod was flared out enough that it was impossible to get the new, harder bushing back on. So, I did what any MacGuyver would do, I used a SawZall with the metal blade and hacked the flared end off. There was still plenty of material to hold onto the new bushing and the bushing slipped right over the rod. After bolting it all back together, the gears feel tight and so much better than before. It’s also really nice that the kit comes with 3 new metal collars. Mine came already installed in the bushings but i took them out to grease them up before installing. Two for the larger bushing in the rear and one for the front two.
