- WHAT DOES THIS PRODUCT DO – Canvas Cleaner – Specially formulated to deep clean and help prevent the growth of green this cleaner will remove everyday contaminates such as bird droppings, road salt, tree sap, and . Cleaning your top is the first stage in the Protex soft top restoration process.
- WHAT DOES THIS PRODUCT DO – Canvas Restorer – Specially formulated to colour restore your faded canvas soft top this colour restorer will present a strong and even finish penetrating deep into your canvas top. Used after Protex Canvas Cleaner, colour restoring your top is the second stage in the Protex soft top restoration process.
- WHAT DOES THIS PRODUCT DO – Canvas Waterproofer – Specially formulated to seal and protect your canvas soft top this polymer based sealant will provide protection against moisture and other environmental damage. Used after Protex Canvas Cleaner or Canvas Dye this is the final stage in the Protex soft top restoration process.
- COVERAGE & PREPARTION – Canvas Cleaner – It is recommended that approximately 1 Litre of product is sufficient to clean a top for a 4 seater car. The canvas soft top must be colourfast so test on an inconspicuous area first, to ensure fabric dye does not run. Do not apply the cleaner in direct sunlight as drying time will be to fast preventing the cleaner from working properly.
- COVERAGE & PREPARATION – Canvas Restorer – It is recommended that approximately 1 Litre of product is sufficient to restore a top for a 4 seater car. It is best to apply the product in cool/overcast conditions so that drying time is not too fast and to avoid causing an uneven finish.
- COVERAGE & PREPARTION – Canvas Waterproofer – It is recommended that approximately 500ml of product is sufficient to waterproof a top for a 2 seater car. It is best to apply the product in cool/overcast conditions so that drying time is not too fast and to avoid causing an uneven finish. Shake the bottle well and decant sufficient product into a separate container to apply to the soft top.
- FOLLOW UP – Do not expose to moisture until the proofer has completely dried. After waterproofing it is recommended that the canvas is sealed and protected using Protex Canvas Waterproofer every six months.

If you have used a petroleum based Waterproofer in the past this will not stick to your fabric, it is water based. WHY DO THEY NOT TELL YOU THIS UPFRONT!!!!!

Seems to work very well. My top was badly faded and leaking from numerous car washes. First, I got the 1 liter kit with all 3 products. I have a Mustang and didn’t think the 500 ml bottles would be enough. Cleaned the top once and still have about 2/3 of the liter bottle left. I applied 2 coats of the restorer to make sure there were no faded spots left. I have about 1/3 of the bottle left or enough for another coat. I did 2 coats of the sealer and still have about half of the bottle left. One note: after the first coat of the sealer, the second coat didn’t soak in as well so I wasted a little from runoff. On the second coat of sealer, apply smaller amounts more slowly to prevent waste. If your top was a bad and faded as mine, go for the 1 liter bottles. If you’re just touching up and re-sealing, the 500 ml bottles should be enough. Also, had a few spots of restorer on the paint from paint brush drips; even after drying, the restorer came off the paint easily with water and a rag. In my estimation, the product is a little pricy, but because it seems to work, I’d gladly buy it again.

Great at cleaning however as a black dye/paint this is to be avoided
I’ve now found myself having to try and scrub the over coat (from two coats as recommended) from the disgusting looking finish that has been left behind
Now I’m not just a guy who has ‘painted a roof’ with no idea
I’m a qualified painter and know how different paints can react
On a different note
Just be mindful of any splattering !!!

I was very sceptical about this product as my cabriolet roof was in a very poor state with a lot of green algae and bird droppings. I also bought a set of sponges you can attach to a drill to make the cleaning easier which helped really get the product into the roof. Had to use the cleaner twice but it really did lift the green marks and bird droppings off. The restorer was fantastic and made the roof a great black colour again and the waterproofer also worked well. So good in fact I sold the car for the price I wanted as the roof looked like new again. I bought the large pack but only needed to use half so gave the rest to the buyer.

I don’t write many reviews. Although it did take 2 applications, my top that was horrible now looks nearly new. Outstanding products.
