Item came fast, brand new and as described. Local NAPA wanted more than twice money for rebuilt starter and you had to give back core…not required with Amazon purchase. I never write reviews but this was a great deal/product. Highly recomend. Installed on a 1997 Chevy Exxpress Van 1500 5.7 V-8…took two bolts and Neg/Pos terminal studs. Easy, Simple…30 minutes for entire job. Go for it!

This starter seems to be working very well at the moment. Works flawlessly, but I may have to update my review after a few months. Seems to be about the same build as my original part. Very happy with the price, and value of the part. The part was almost double the price at a local part store, hopefully I feel the same way a year from now.

Starter made odd noises, hanging up internally? Finally died, wont crank, internally shorted and blows 40 amp maxi-fuse. May be a bad solenoid.

I have a ’95 F250 and took a chance on an after market high torque starter years ago. I was having issues turning over the diesel engine with the OEM starters. It paid off, and 6 years later it is working great. I got lucky. That high torque starter was only a little less expensive than an OEM.
This time I decided to buy a cheap after market starter for my ’99 Yukon Denali, as I was having issues starting the vehicle, that included this nasty metal grinding sound. I drive the vehicle about once every couple of weeks to go into town, so I did not want to spend the money if the issue was not the starter, on a vehicle that I rarely drive.
I put this new starter in and had the same exact nasty sound. I thought it might be the fly wheel that had some busted teeth, as the grinding sound had happened in the coldest point of winter and I thought something may have frozen to cause the engine not to turn over, breaking a couple of cogs. I was able to use it for a while, but the old starter just could not turn over the engine enough to start. When I installed this new starter it acted the same as the old starter and so I thought it might be something else. Anyway, I had to have the Yukon towed for $150 – and that was a steal. My insurance paid for the tow. My shop contacted me the next day and told me the new starter had been bench tested and was bad. The diagnostic and new starter install cost me $530. A brand new DOA garbage starter is to blame. This starter is not a rebuild, but new. It engages, but the shop stated the plunger did not have the force to properly engage the fly wheel. Just like my tired 12 year old OEM starter.
I have finally learned my lesson; If it is a hard to work on or a part you need to rely on, don’t cut corners. Buy the 1 karat ring. Sorry, wrong work horse. Buy the good part.
Combined, the cost for going cheap was almost $700, not including my initial wasted time of searching for, buying and installing this POS. If you are reading this you are probably planning on replacing your own starter. Buy the $200-250 OEM starter.

Bought for my 96 chevy k1500. Fit perfect. Only issue is factory bolts and the bolts on the replacement are different sizes.

Purchased 12/31/18. Put it on my 1997 K2500/350 motor. Drove through Florida swamps since and just quit after truck being down for other reasons 2 months. Best starter I ever had.
