This was a great upgrade for my 1965 Mustang. Even though it was identified as a direct fit, the pulleys were different, but I figured as much based on the picture. Swapping the old pulley onto the new alternator was easy enough. Now my voltage stays strong even with all the accessories and headlights on.

The alternator from power master is great but the fact I bought one with a black case I expected it to be better quality on the finish to hold up better. You can scratch the paint off with your fingernail. It’s like they used a rattle can and didn’t prep it properly and charge ya a bit more for the black. Very disappointed in the presentation of the product.

When the stock alternator went out in my 1982 Mercury Capri it burned up the wiring and voltage regulator along with it. I considered replacing it with a factory part and making a new harness, but once it was all said and done it would’ve cost as much as this alternator but the output wouldn’t have been even close.
Installation was a breeze, it fit in the factory location just like the old one. The wiring for my old voltage regulator/alternator is gone and in place is a single wire to the positive post on my starter solenoid. Couldn’t have been an easier swap and my charging system is much better than it was before, and better than it would’ve been brand new.
Quality part, fit and finish is better than oem and seriously this thing was stupid simple to install.

would be 5 stars except that I have to fit a protection piece or cut the mounting bolt for the battery cable so that it will not rub and eventually cause a leak on the upper heater core hose. please note this is a single wire hookup so you will not be plugging in the original voltage gauge.

Installed in an 88 Ford Bronco with a 302. I hooked it up with a new battery and it charges. What a joyous moment, no Crazy grinding or modification was required and my gauge still worked without hooking up to the second plug… still haven’t figured that out.
It works, it’s power master and it’s quality. Very happy!

This alternator is solid. It does exactly what it is supposed without issue. I was kinda hoping for slightly higher numbers out of it from the test slip that came with it like when i had ordered one for my truck that exceeded the advertised amperage. but you win some and you lose some. but seriously to be pushing 130 amps cruising is nearly double the max of stock so i am happy with this. For those curious this bolted right into a Ford 5.0 with the paxton supercharger bracket installed so no issues with installation thankfully and was easy to access the charge post after installation.

This is my 2nd “Powermaster” Alternator, I bought this for my 1986 Ranger (2.3lt. engine) I had let the truck sit for 8 years after having the front end rebuilt, new brakes, I had rebuilt the engine myself in 2005- I was very happy with my 1st “Powermaster” for my 1994 GMC K2500. The customer service from the shop that builds these VERY powerful alternator’s is FIRST CLASS, Very Helpful, my first call was about my concern of how warm the alternator was running- the technician I spoke with was very knowledgeable and helped me to understand why my concern was unwarranted. I had started the Ranger after sitting for the 8 years (the clutch was shot) after getting it to run, I noticed that my lights (all of them) were not as bright as I like, the MSD 40,000 volt coil wasn’t firing as it should- I knew that if the little truck had more “Juice” from the alternator it would “Jump!” and it did!! The 140 amps gave the coil more than enough power-The directions are VERY easy to understand, I’ll enjoy my 25 – 28 mpg with the long distances I travel here in N.E.Wyoming (everything is 100 miles apart) I won’t worry about the electrical system (or the rest of the truck), My ONLY complaint is it didn’t come with the 8 gauge wire as the description said it would (I had to drive 60 miles 1 way to get some) Thanks Powermaster for a “Top Notch” Alternator, Big Thanks Amazon for the ability to have such a good part delivered to “The Backwoods” of Wyoming (Ya’ll could send me the 7′ of wire) THANKS !!
