My truck never had great brakes. Especially when towing my 5th wheel trailer. I do have 33″ tall tires and that contributed greatly to the loss of braking, so no fault of GM. At 120,000 miles my mechanic twice told me I need to replace the brakes but not because of wear but due the rusted vents. In Colorado mag chloride is used in winter and it eats steel like nothing I’ve ever experienced, so I took the opportunity to upgrade the brakes. Power Stop makes some powerful claims, as does other aftermarket companies. I always research the heck out of anything before I buy something especially something as critical as automotive brakes. Even though my 10,000 pound trailer has brakes, they do not provided good braking. So my hope was to really see a difference and especially when towing. This was a matter of making my truck much safer for my family during our travels. I’ve had too many close calls so this was important. After reading every review I could find, both for these brakes and other companies, I’m happy to say I’ve made a great choice in buying Power Stop brakes. OK, down to what you want to know. First you must follow the break-in instructions. They say don’t tow anything until you put a hundred miles on the brakes. I found they fully broke in at 200 given a lot of that was highway. Now I can honestly say the braking performance is OUTSTANDING!. I just completed a 1200 mile trip to the Black Hills in South Dakota with my 10,000 lb trailer in tow. I had plenty of opportunity to put these brakes to the test. I did have a couple near panic stops, only because my wife said “turn here!” just about 200 ft from a turn off at highway speeds. And going down a steep hill with all the weight behind me it would have been impossible before installing these brakes. They grab hard when you need them and without standing on the brake pedal. The braking is smooth, quiet and controlled. Nice straight-line braking. I felt in total control and more than confident with these hard stops. They feel like performance brakes. If you’ve owned a performance car you’ll know what I’m talking about. I know this is a lengthy review, but with so many choices and mostly short reviews it’s hard to choose one over the other. To make this clear… I experience better than the 20% increase over stock brakes Power Stop claims, more on line with 50% in my case. There is no dust, excellent regulated braking from light to hard stops and absolutely quiet. Everything I could hope for and more. I was surprised at how great these perform and they cost less than the other guys. Thank you Power Stop.

I put these on a 2006 Chevy 2500HD with a 6″ lift and big tires. I’ve had them on for over a month now and working great. They’re good quality and just as good as OEM. Price is very comparable to other products out there.
Only problem I had was they shipped two rear rotors for the passenger side and they are directional because of the rotor slotting for cooling. Ordered another set and was shipped two rear rotors for the driver side. Thank God I still had the first set so I made two proper sets and shipped one back. I had zero problems with Amazon on the return shipment. Customer service was GREAT!!!!

Fabulous difference in the feel of the brake pedal. I did this conversion because we bought a 41′ 5th wheel RV and I was not at all comfortable with how it all got stopped in a rapid deceleration situation. The stock brakes on our 2009 GMC 3500HD just could not handle the heat build up and I warped the front rotors on our first trip through the mountains. I was a little concerned just after I installed the equipment as the pedal felt very “spongy” initially. I followed the manufacture’s “brake in” procedure to the letter. There is a heavy coating of lacquer or something on the rotors from the factory which I presume is applied to keep the rotors from rusting after they are made. This coating must be burnt off and thus the very specific “break in” procedure that is mandated. Now with about 1000 miles on the new brakes, the pedal feels firm, there is no fade and the brakes have a great deal of reserve capacity while towing our RV. We are much safer going down the road. The system isn’t cheap but the product is well built and in my mind well worth the expense based on the increased braking ability.

Read a review previously stating they recieved two complete front end sets instead of a front and rear set as expected. Thought that it might have been a one off thing. We’ll it happened to me as well. After talking with a real person at customer service I had an amazing experience. My guy “Levinson A” at customer service took care of me, made it easy and was able to get just the rear sets I needed without hassle. As far as quality of product, the parts looked great, only slight issue was a paint chip in the red calipers. But to be expected with warehouse handling. Definite improvement over the stock breaks I had for sure.

Upgraded from stock brakes on my 2007 Silverado 2500HD Duramax, and I tow a 34 foot 5th wheel. WOW, huge difference in stopping power. I don’t have to press on the brakes so hard and I feel more in control while braking. Install was very easy no problems. I can’t rate the longevity as I just installed the brakes and rotors. Only complaint I have is that the kit only comes with new caliper sliding pin dust boots for the rear brakes and not for the front. I called and asked about this and was told that is the way the kit comes and that if I wanted to replace the front dust boots I would have to buy them at an auto supply as Power Stop does not supply them. I did but a set for the front and installed them. It does not make sense that you would only replace the rear boots, other than this small issue the rotors and pads all appear to be of quality materials.

I purchased these breaks in 2018 to replace original GM brakes on my truck that had 155,000 miles on it. The original brakes were still not down to the ware indicator. Now at 205,000 these brakes are worn down to metal. They only lasted 50,000 miles. I would not buy again.

Eveeything came early. Got both front and rear drilled and slotted rotors and heavy duty pads. Packaging was in great shape and everything i ordered was there. ALWAYS follow the pad seating/break-in proceedure. The thing i really like is that the parts are great quality, zero defects and provide better than OEM performance. I have installed power stop rotors and pads on both my cars and now my truck; 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. I think that says a lot about how much I trust them to work perfectly every time. Powerstop, if your listening, tell me where I can order a T-Shirt and a Hat. Thats how much I love your products. BTW- Somehow I hit the “Missing Parts” suggested topics and couldn’t deselect it. I did not have any missing parts. Everyting was fine.

I was a little worried about some of the negative reviews. The part set was complete and easy to install. The brakes were smooth, no vibration and excellent stopping power. Very happy with this purchase!
