Full disclosure I did not purchase this item to charge or power a Garmin device. Rather I got this to recharge a power bank and camera. They should easily highlight that you can use this cable for more than just a Carmen GPS. I like that this adapter has a 90° bend, which is handy if you need to park your device’s that you are charging in tight quarters.
There is basic plastic insulation around the Wiring. According to the printing on the side of the table we’re looking at 22 gauge wires on the inside. I have also noticed that this cable is fully pinned. Which means that it can be used for more than just charging it can also be used to pass data from device to device. That is an important feature if you’re going to be moving data from a camera to a computer or any other device.
In short, if you’re looking for a power cable and you have older devices that require a mini USB connection I would not hesitate to recommend this to you. One of my complaints with a lot of cables is that they tend to only provide power but not data. This is one of the few that I’ve verified where it does both and is also at a relatively low price point.

With these cables I am able to recharge and work with my G.P.S. without having tough it into my cars accessory plug, and having to freeze in the winter, or melt down in the heat of summer.
