Fit right in my 1985 monte carlo

This cable does not fit my 1987 Grand National with console shift. The cable is long enough to reach the shifter to the transmission but when it’s attached it will only go up to reverse, not park. The cable doesn’t have enough slide length to do the job. Yes it clicks on the holders, but no it won’t allow the shifter to go in Park. Returning it
