This is almost a perfect match to the original AC Delco CF182 OEM cabin air filter I replaced in my 2014 Chevrolet SS. The filter is accessed from under the hood, there’s a black plastic housing on the passenger side up near the windshield. For the SS you’ll remove 7 plastic pop rivets, slide the rubber weather seal off and the entire panel can be removed. Alternatively you can just leave the seal in place and prop the plastic cover up, but be careful not to crack anything as this makes it harder to access. The filter sits down inside of that box and this replacement was nearly identical in size, shape and thickness to the OEM filter. Highly recommend this product if it fits your application.

So I had high hopes for this as the filter for my Chevy SS is not really a common one. This filter did not meet the minimum standard though. It appears to be for another vehicle with a similar shaped filter but nearly every dimension is close but wrong. It was both too tall and too wide to fit in the slot as you can see in the images. The angle and point at which the top chamfering takes place is also wrong. Just to get it fitted in the car I needed to trim the sides down but it still fits poorly. So this is a no go as a filter if you have a Chevy SS.
Even if it did fit, it would be a less than ideal unit as you can see it has half the pleats. Less pleats means less airflow and less filtration. One might think that’s the opposite but it’s about surface area for air to pass through and there is just significantly less. I’m also a little dubious about the activated carbon, it looks strange to me but I’ve got no way to verify what it is.

The 2013 has a horribly designed compartment for the cabin air filter. The filter must be basically folded up to fit through an opening about three inches by one inch. Then presumably the filter pops itself back into form once inside. I purchased two of these but the new one didn’t make it into my car once I managed to extract the old one with needle nose pliers. The old one was a mess of leaves and debris but had obviously never popped back into shape after being inserted because it was still folded up for insertion. The pull tab pulled completely off in my removal efforts. The new one seemed even stiffer than the first one so after trying for half an hour to shove it in there so that it could pop open I had two utterly destroyed cabin air filters. I place most of the blame on the moron engineers at Nissan for their horrible design of the cabin air filter location but this filter simply doesn’t work as needed for my car. Nissan needs to look at the utterly simple design used in the Toyota Corolla. It took me a max of 30 seconds to replace the cabin air filter in that car. Don’t buy this for a 2013 Nissan Sentra at least. Save yourself the aggravation and buy the elcheapo thin filters. They are the only things flexible enough to be of any use in the horrible design that was used for the 2013 Nissan Sentra.
