best as i can see, this filter appears to be better constructed than the oem type it replaced. if it’s in a cts, the fit’s perfect. time will tell how durable it is. also, the oem showed no air flow direction and this one does.
for those who are skiddish, it’s a piece of cake to replace. raise the hood and you’ll see 3 small bolt-heads facing up, just below the passenger side wiper. they’re about 10″ apart from 1st to last. remove the screws and that panel will slide out. the filter is underneath the panel. you’ll see a plastic cover on top of the filter. just lightly pull the tabs on each side and boom!
my old one had at least 15k miles and had not been changed in at least 6 – 8 years. surprisingly not that dirty but you couldn’t see through it when holding it up to a light. so yeah, it was overdue.

I Changed the filter after I changed the blower motor. I Got this filter for like 10$ bucks, got the blower motor for 36$, both on Amazon. The car dealer always charge me about 165 to change the filter took me five minutes for the internal filter. ( google Video)I love this thing this is like the second or third one I have purchased. Works just as well no different from the expensive one! Awesome!!!
