Very easy to install. Biggest issue is routing the wire through the distributor. Car fired right up. Timed it and no more to do…ever. Only a few thousand miles since the install, so I can’t address longevity.

It installed easily with the simple instructions, some mechanical ability is required, but if you’re deep enough into your ignition system to be looking for this you’ll be fine.
I installed an Ignitor III and Flamethrower III but was having odd issues.
I was having a surging and idle issue, especially when the headlights were on and when driving above 30 mph. This relay cleared it up immediately.
Seems to come with everything you need to install. Best price I could find around the net.

The relay guarantees you won’t have a problem with insufficient voltage getting to the ignitor II electonic ignition in an old Chevy engine and it bypasses the original wiring to guarantee that the voltage stays up and the engine keeps performing so much better than the original points and condensor in the distributor that it is night and day. there are ways to do it without using the relay, but you have to direct wire from the back of the fusebox or try to and risk breaking its connection. This is a lot cheaper than having to pay for even a half hour labor in a garage and a novice like me can install it in ten or fifteen minutes and it works like a charm. I keep my old 1973 blazer running in the Maine wilderness and not too many mechanics grow on any trees within 50 miles of me. Sure was a good idea I installed it–it’s lots better than breaking down 30 miles froom nowhere on a road no one travels and where there is no cell phone service.

Very easy to install. This ignition upgrade makes my classic car more reliable and improves the engine performance. Very pleased with this item.

Be sure of the car and application, Pertronix tech offered erronius information when called. Suggest you ask other antique car owners who have used this in their Pertronix ignitor install.

Had to pull out and re organize the pins to correct wire order! Luckily nothing was damaged but it took a long time to diagnose why it was not working. Electrician mechanic was hired to diagnose $$$. Pertronix customer service said it was not manufactured incorrectly.

This kit was delivered quicker than expected and was a breeze to install. Saved a ton of time compared to trying to figure out how to bypass the OEM resistor wire!

I installed this because my 65 Mustang has the resistor wire in the wiring harness. Rather than butchering my wiring harness this connected right up to it, no issues. I will definitely do this for classic cars that have this set up and distributor.

Nice, good to have beside my other Pertronix

Confusing directions I installed the ignitor 3 with the flamethrower 3, and the directions contradicted on another
