Instructions were spot on. The product worked as it should. The repair was quick and easy, it took about 5 minutes to repair and another 30 minutes for the adhesive to dry

  2. Don Fisher

Used on my wife’s rear view mirror when it decided to stop being mounted to the windshield thanks to the Texas summers. Durability seems good but it seems like a little steep pricing for a one time use amount. Instructions were straightforward easy to use. Dried quickly with no install mess but I still did not mount the mirror right away I let the mount cure overnight just as an extra precaution. Has held up great and I will update if there’s any changes in results later.

  3. Johnny. B

Worked one one of my windshields but then used a 2nd kit on another and followed all instructions and it fell off the windshield with in 24 hours of mounting the mirror

  4. Sidney s.

I followed the directions and it’s been 10 days and the mirror is still holding in place.

  5. Oliver

Extremely good product. easy to use if folow the directions mentioned on the packet.

  6. JD

Good and strong for my car mirror

Follow the directions to the letter! I had a previous Permatex product that included everything you need – the activator, glue, alcohol cleaning wipe, and sandpaper – to sand the windshield – important. My previous use of this product lasted about 2 years, and the instructions w/ this kit now noted that the glueing could fail if done in a hot car. So, I did the gluing this time, on a cool morning, and waited a full 24 hours before mounting the mirror onto the METAL button. I believe this product also said it’s for METAL buttons, and not plastic ones – which I’ve never come across. I think glueing a button onto the sloping glass must be one of the more difficult surfaces to attach to. They give you enough glue for multiple attempts, but not enough activator for several tries, as the activator is in a pouch you tear open, and it dries, not a little bottle, like the glue.

follow the instructions to the letter and this kit works 100%
the oem install adhered for 26 years, I expect no less from this install… 🙂

I bought this Loctite Rear View Mirror specific glue and it FAILED in 5 days. Mirror fell off. It was not my first Rodeo, so everything was done correctly. Bond was just no good in Florida Heat. To add injury to FAILURE…just a day before it fell off I noticed a 1 inch crack going left and right from center of the Metal tab on windshield. (It’s grown to 3 inches but seems to have stopped now. Can’t be felt on either side of windshield with fingernail or Razor Blade, so it’s not to the exterior…..YET.) I used just ONE DROP in center and pressed it up to the glass and held it in place for proper amount of time. NO crack seen the next day when I put the mirror on. The “Activator” reaction with the glue must have had some serious heat that I didn’t notice on my Thumb while holding it.
I tried the Loctite cheaper Glass Glue as well since it is rated to 176F and I’ve measured temps of over 140F on my Truck windshield. It failed within hours of mounting mirror after letting tab cure for 48 hours.
I’m trying the Loctite 5 Minute Epoxy now. It’s only rated to 120F so I’m not hopeful…but it’s still on after two days now. LOL
If this fails….I will use PERMATEX 5 Minute Epoxy that I have used on my Golf Clubs for Decades. I’ve NEVER had a bond fail on those clubs. Need the Heat Gun to change out shafts.
P.S. I saw Ole’ Scotty Kilmer using this stuff on YouTube and poo pooing people who say it fails…Pfftt…rofl :~)

  10. Amazon Shopper

Perfect repair and super easy. 2 step epoxy made it simple and clean. Would buy again (but rear view seldom falls off)
