The Wilmar W1671 Twelve Foot Eight-Gauge Jumper Cables are excellent, particularly at this price point. In addition to the sizable gauge (the lower the number the better) wire and high amperage rating, they are long and flexible. They have fully insulated clamps that reduce the electrocution hazard considerably, as I bought these to replace an old, open set that lacked adequate insulation on the clamps (I never got bit, but was always pretty nervous about them). The clamps have perpendicular rows of teeth that help attach to your battery terminals with ease. These are well made cables similar to others costing 1 1/2 to 2 times the price.

The battery in my car decided to just up and die on me the other day, so I had to have my father come over to give me a jump. The only pair of jumpers that I have are VERY short and very thin cable, so we used my fathers. After at least 20 minutes of sitting there, the engine still wouldn’t turn. I checked his cables out with my multimeter and they were showing very low voltage! Luckily he also had a backup portable jumper. I decided it was time to invest in a good set of cables to carry in the car, and a set to give my father. I fortunately (or unfortunately) have not had a chance to test these out yet but they seem to be well made, good heavy cable. Only odd thing is the cable itself is black and yellow, not black and red, but the handles are black and red so that is what matters anyway. The cables are also nice and long so no more pulling up and getting the cables out, only to find out you need to spin the car around because your cables are too short!

The Performance Tool W1670 12′ 10-Gauge 150 AMP All Weather Jumper Cables are a must-have for any car owner! I got these because they were cheaper than buying locally, and they arrived quickly. While I haven’t needed to use them often, when I did, they worked perfectly. The quality seems solid, and I’m confident they’ll handle any jump-start situation.

When you are broken down you can always find someone willing to help but not everyone has cables. I used them to help a coworker get home when her car wouldn’t start. These cables do the trick when needed. They are very easy to use.

Fine for cars and trucks with standard car batteries. I wouldn’t try to use it for anything that’s going to pull more than 45 amps for more than 8 seconds. The gauge of the wire determines how many amps you can safely pull through the wire. A wire this size in your house can power a 35 amp load safely, but is going to get warm and likely melt the insulation. Should carry heavier loads for shorter durations with no problems.

Great cables. Ive used them once so far and did what they supposed to do. They are a heavy feeling cable with real 4 gauge wire in them. They are amazingly long and the clips are really nice.
4 year update:
So my cables after countless uses, the ends where the wire meets the started to fray. My brother tried splicing them but said they where brittle. Upon further investigation, I noticed they’re copper clad aluminium. Didnt know up until today. For a CCA jumper cable they served me well. Although I plan on doing a more perminate solution for jumping vehicles, I’m still going to keep these around for good measure.
When I bought these, they where advertised at copper conductors which I personally wanted in a cable. I do give them credit for having an actual 4 gauge wire and heavy duty clamps. Just needs to be OFC conductors. But for the price I think it’s a good deal
