Peak Design phone cases are great if your phone is compatible and this is the best car mount within that system. It’s easy to install and even easier to put your phone on and take off. I’ve collected a number of Peak Design mobile products for car, motorcycle, and desk and have been impressed with how well they keep my phone safe. I’m using a Pixel 9.

Despite most of it being made out of metal, the hook that secures it is surprisingly made out of plastic. I don’t know why they decide to skimp on this critical part.
The hook also tends to slip during installation if you are not very careful. The hook could have been shaped deeper so that there is less chance of slipping. However, once installed, it feels very rock solid for a vent mount. Just for reference, i have a 2016 VW GTI, which has exact same vent design as the promo shots of it being installed on a VW Golf. Also, for comparison, i also purchased the Ugreen vent mount at the same which is a very similar style mount that has a metal hook that feels like it would hold up longer at 1/4 the price. However, the Ugreen has a plastic body and does not have the bottom clip for extra stability. I guess you can’t have it all.
The magnet strength feels a bit on the light side, although this makes removing the phone from the mount a breeze. So far, I haven’t experienced my phone falling off the mount. I’m using a Pixel 9 pro xl with Torras magsafe case. The magnet strength on the mount is much lighter than the Ugreen one. If could have the magnet strength to be right in between the PeakDesign mount and the Ugreen mount, then that would be perfect.
I would highly suggest anyone to cross shop these 2 mounts to see what would work best for you. Out of the 2, the Peak Design FEELS more stable during use and it doesn’t wobble as much as the Ugreen. However, i still don’t like that they used plastic for the hook, so i cannot give this a 5 star rating. I’m just not fully confident that this piece will hold up despite it looking well-built and sturdy everywhere else. And of course there is the high-price of entry. The Ugreen is a much better value if you can forgive a bit of wobbliness.

カー用品店にある、プラ製を見てたがずっと求めてるのと違うと、iphoneを車に設置する事をしなかったが、デジイチ使うのだが、このメーカーがまだカメラ脱着の器具(今は普通に販売されてる)の資金調達段階で知ってたが海外だったので参加しなくて、その後カメラからちょっと遠ざかっていたのだかど、最近ピークデザインと会社で色々出してるの知って、カメラ周辺メーカーなら絶対自分に合うだろうと購入。
理由は、デザインが気にいったのと、金属製なのがいい、そらプラ製ではないからちょっと高くなるけど高級感があるし、一見携帯ホルダーに見えないからいい。吹き出し口によっては取り付け出来ないかもしれないが自身の車はokでしたが、ダメでも買ってましたね、デザインが気にいったしカメラ関連の会社なのも共感出来た。同じ会社が出してる携帯に貼り付けてカードタイプから三脚になるもの買いました、これも金属製なのがいい。
この似たタイプでMagSafe対応のiphone付けただけで充電するものも有りますよ。私はシンプルなのがいいからこっちにしましたけど。参考になれば。

This is quite possibly the best designed vent mount aside from the simple fact that can not be looked past. The magnetic attachment point is the weakest magnetic phone mount I have ever owned. The magnet will not even prevent the phone from falling off at any mounting angle. I so badly want this mount to work because no other vent mount is this secure to the car vent, this just can’t function as a phone mount due to the worst magnets ever produced being installed in this mount.

Bought this based on some positive reviews I read in a forum… I’ll start with the Pros: sturdy, easy to use, well made and quality, looks durable, more adjustable than most. Cons: does not work with phone case, does not have a fore-aft adjustment to push phone out away from dash, cost.
So, I was looking for a sturdy mount, did not need to be charging mount – had various versions of those and they always seemed to charge at such slow speeds it wasn’t worth it. This mount is very sturdy and well built – mounts easily, although doesn’t adjust in 3D, just on a 2-D plane and then a swivel on the rear of the phone. That’s the one downside, but it actually still works for my car.
It’s a little pricey for what it is – but I can overlook that.
My biggest grip is that it does not work with my phone case. I use a Pela phone case, and it’s thin and low profile. Not probably the thinnest on market, but also, below average and certainly not the thickest. The phone/case stands zero chance of staying mounted magnetically. At near vertical alignment, I can’t even get it to hold in place for a second. With the pad at a slight angle, it may or may not hold at stand still, but with any car movement, it drops off right away… The only way it holds is if you take the case off.
Super inconvenient… but I’m actually using it that way for now because I like how sturdy it holds the phone in that configuration – doesn’t bounce, doesn’t drop, easy in/out vs. some other powered pinch style holders…
I don’t know – I really wanted to like this – but I’m disappointed about the case situation.
Maybe I need a magnetic case – would that help?

I was a bit skeptical first because of the price. I thought there’s no way a car mount without charging should cost this much. I was excited to see them restock on Amazon so I figured I’d give it a go.
It’s incredibly well built. Most of the construction is full bodied metal (likely aluminum) with very little plastic. The vents on my Mazda 6 2014 don’t fit their requirements for the installation, but it worked out fine anyway. My vent also does not sag with all the extra weight of the mount and phone.
The adjustable arm connecting to the magnet mount is very sturdy. Once you tighten it in the position you like your phone wont bounce around or wobble. The magnet is also very strong and works well with their case for my pixel 6.
I still think it’s a little bit overpriced, but it would be hard to find another car mount that’s crafted this well with this much thought put into it about it’s operation and use.

This is the mount I have been looking for! It securely mounts to the air vent in my 4th generation 4Runner and securely holds my phone no matter what kind of driving I throw at it.
The folks who are giving this a bad review for not holding on strong enough are not using the Peak Design case that this was designed to interface with. If you have a Peak Design case just do yourself a favor and get this mount. If you don’t have a PD case, stop wasting everyone’s time with your weak, poorly researched nonsense.
