I recently purchased a new Toyota Tundra. After a lifetime of taking my cars through the car wash, but resigning myself to having swirl marks on my paint from their brushes, I decided to cancel my $30 per month membership and commit to home car washing. I was never in love with the process of dragging out the garden hose each time and using multiple sponges and towels and a ton of water. A friend told me about ONR and so I decided to give it a try. OMG! It’s so quick and easy and it’s amazing how well it works! My first time it took me about 20-25 minutes, but this included washing, drying and polishing every surface (windows, bumpers, tires, etc.). And I only used the one drying towel that came with this package. I mentioned that I polished the car too. So in addition to purchasing this package of products, I also purchased the liquid spray “Optimum Car Wax”. So not too long after washed and polished my truck, I had to go out while it was drizzling rain. I was bummed, thinking I had just a few days before done a thorough job of cleaning the car and I thought my effort was going to be wasted and I’d have to do it again. But somehow the car surface didn’t have any water stains on it! And as I mentioned before, this product can be used on EVERY surface of your car (save perhaps for cloth seats). So I used it on the windows, the bumpers, tires, etc. And the product goes so far too! It just takes one cap full per gallon of water and I needed no more than 2 gallons of water to do the whole car! In fact, I had quite a bit of water and ONR leftover when I was done. Sorry for going on and on, but I wholeheartedly recommend this product!

First, let me confess that I’m a pressure washer, foam cannon, and two bucket wash kind of person when it comes to washing my ceramic coated car. Car washes with brushes are the harbinger of scratches so I avoid them as well.
I also happen to live in a townhouse that shuts off my outside water spigot during the coldest 3-4 months or so of the year… exactly when roads tend to be occasionally salted for inclement weather and my cars get the most nasty. I use a local touchless car wash to spray off the main portion of the gunk, but it doesn’t do much for the remaining road film and the car certainly isn’t as clean as a contact wash. I’ve seen people raving about ONR for years, but never had the need for such a product until I moved here. I’ll say it seems a bit odd washing a car this way, but it works. I mixed a bucket of water per the dilution on the side, dunked a small sprayer in the water to spray each panel prior to washing with the sponge, and washed/dried each panel per the instructions (and a few YT videos). All I can say is that I’m impressed. I probably won’t use this as my year round method because I just like the foam cannon and bucket wash process, but this is certainly effective and does not scratch when used properly. It did make a bit of a wet mess in my garage, especially when detailing the wheels and tires, but that’s cleaned up easily with a coupe of old garage towels. The product has a nice smell as well, fresh and clean. I would recommend using a better drying towel than the couple of microfibers provided in the kit. I used a rag company liquid8r and it worked great, and just one towel needed for the whole car – minus the wheels of course, they get their own microfibers to prevent cross contamination onto the paint.
In conclusion, it seems weird, but it is indeed a viable way of doing a contact wash inside your garage with no rinsing, especially if you have a coated car as they tend to not get quite as grimy to begin with. It can make a bit of a mess, but nothing too bad if you’re careful and have a couple of old shop towels lying around to dry up a couple of small puddles. Definitely recommended if you’re in a situation where you’re water restricted or it’s just too darn cold outside to wash your car and you’d rather stay in the garage where it’s nice and warm.

As a guy who grew up dreading the process of finding the hose and decent sponge and a clean wash bucket and finding the dish soap all to wash the car – this has changed the game. (and yes – I will stand still while you throw heavy objects at me for using dish soap on my car… I know… I now see the errors of my teen years! … I know much better now!).
NOW – fast forward a couple of decades and we find ourselves staring at a gorgeous blue bottle of ONR… WOW! Does this stuff WORK! Now keep in mind, it’s meant to clean a light-to-moderately soiled car. If you have caked on mud – try another approach. But for regular road dust – or just to give it a quick ZING to your car – you can’t beat this stuff!
I use it as an interim “I don’t want to break out all the detailing kit” measure – so the car isn’t ever any dirtier than a light dusting – BUT it takes me a couple of minutes and the car is sparkling as a result. I really like the sponge that comes in this kit – it’s awesome. I didn’t use the included microfibre cloth as a trying towel (I have other ones I use), but I’ve used it for other cleaning purposes and it’s great. All said – this is a great kit!
It’s easy. It’s effective. It’s a great way to keep your ride shiny! GET this and enjoy washing your car!

You need to try Optimum No Rinse (ONR). I was a hold out thinking the hype can’t be real. Well this stuff is the real deal. If you keep your car pretty clean this is definitely the way to go. It encapsulates the dirt and you gently wipe it away. I spray liberally onto car. Two microfiber towel method. Rinse & squeeze towel at least every panel. Dirt simply falls to bottom of pail. Use a bucket bottom screen. Just a couple ounces of ONR in 5 gallon bucket & you can was a few cars. Very concentrated. The stuff goes a long way. One of those smallish pump up sprayers work great. All your left with is a little bit of good smelling ONR on the floor when your done. GREAT for use over that new ceramic finish you just had done.
By the way, even good to use on a dirty car. But you’ll need to hose it down. Spray car down well with ONR allow it to dwell a while. Don’t let it dry. It’s encapsulating a ton of the dirt. Spray it off and most of the dirt that will scratch your finish will wash away. Then finish up.

Top quality rinseless car wash. Excellent sponge. Good quality plush drying towel. All at a good price. I would buy two more of the towels if I could.
