Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer (OID) is a fantastic product and I’d highly recommend it! I use it primarily after washing and drying my car, to get any remaining water marks out and give it a quick shine. I start by using a large waffle weave microfiber towel to get off the majority of the remaining water, after using the sheeting method to get the initial bulk of it off. No swirling at all with the towel, just lay it over the portion of the car I’m drying and pull it off. There may be some remaining water streaks, but they’ll come off with the OID. Now that the car is almost entirely dry, I go back with a thick weave microfiber polishing cloth and the OID. Just spray a little onto the car, wipe it in with the low nap side of the polishing cloth, and then go back over it one more time with the larger nap side. Only takes a couple minutes to do the whole car and the results are definitely worth the effort! The product is very easy to remove…nothing like a wax.
My car is only a couple months old, so I’ve never had it detailed or put on any wax other than what the factory shipped it with (I’ll be doing that shortly). However, the OID adds an incredible glass-like shine to the car and I honestly think it looks better than when I picked the car up from the showroom! Wax would obviously provide better protection, but this looks at least as good and takes only minutes. Note that while it’s nice to keep in the car for quick touch ups, this is not a waterless wash product and shouldn’t in place of washing your car.
This is my first bottle and I purchased the 17oz version to see how I liked it. However, I’ll definitely be purchasing the 32oz concentrate when this runs out, which is a significantly better deal!

Works fine as a quick detailer, been using it mostly to help knock off bird droppings when they show up.
One gripe is that my bottle of it seems to have a strange unpleasant smell to it, almost like an acidic smell. Not sure if I got a bad batch or what since other reviews say it has a good smell, I have a bottle of Optimum No Rise as well and it smells fine compared to this stuff.
The acidic smell sticks to my hands after handling it and makes me not want to use it much anymore.

Works great as a final step after washing the car with ONR as a drying aid. It also works as a quick retailer.

Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer (OID) is an amazing product. I primary use it after washing my car when drying using two micro-fiber towels. One towel slightly damp and sprayed with OID to do the first wipe to remove the water, then a completely dry towel to lightly buff. This produces a great shine with no streaks. Using OID while drying the car also acts as a lubricant to prevent the towel from micro-marring the paint. For a much better value, I’ve switched to buying the 1 gallon concentrate rather than this ready-to-use 17oz version. The concentrate is mixed 3 parts water to 1 part OID, so the 1-gallon of concentrate makes 4-gallons (512oz) of detailer at less than 0.12 cents per ounce. I think this may be the best quick detailer out there, and the best value in the 1-gallon size (especially since it includes free shipping). However, the spray bottle is pretty poor, so I now use my own spray bottle. Because of the poor spray bottle I give the 17oz package 4-stars, but the product itself is 5-stars if you use your own spray bottle.

I love Optimum products, this is great for a quick touch up after washing/waxing. Living in Florida when pollen is bad this is great to get that shine back the day after a wash/wax. You don’t need much so value for the money as well

After using the optimum no rinse with the two bucket method and getting such great results I decided to give some of their other products a shot and this one did not disappoint. The first time I used it after cleaning to get that nice glossy finish. I have since used it to spot clean bugs and fingerprints and love having this stuff around.

I see a number of reviewers mentioning the look and formula changed to this weird thick green goop that’s no good from the blue version that was excellent. I’m not sure about the original formula but this one is awful. It literally left swirl scratches and haze on the small portion of my car I used it on before I stopped and halted the damage. Very surprising because I use ONR wash & shine and love it.

Opt has done nothing but impress me!! So far, all of their products have performed quite well. The thing I LOVE about this product is it is a concentrate formula which means u dilute it. So a 32oz concentrate makes one Gallon of QD. Not only is it reasonable in price, it works very well. Nice shine, easy to wipe off, no streaks!! If you are using a retail quick detailer, try this and you will NEVER buy a retail qd again!! For the money, this is the best quick detailer in the detailing industry!!

Best quick detailer I’ve used. Noticeably better than any of the Meguiars QDs and better than Zaino Z6 gloss enhancer. Optimum is slicker, gives the car a noticeably wetter look on the paint and repels dust and water very well. It is also very easy to apply and remove. The large gallon size is an awesome deal. The gallon size is concentrated and makes the equivalent of 24 bottles of Zaino Z6, which would cost $264.
This QD also works very well over other products. I’ve tried it on top of Zaino ZCS and Sonax Polymer Net Shield and results are awesome. Because it’s so cheap compared to other products, I use it all the time between washes.
