Replaced my Prius battery with this one. A few months latter we kept getting warning lights about the braking system. We would shut the car off and turn it on and the warning lights would go away. One night my wife received the same warning and then had close to complete brake failure. Everything was OK but she was understandably badly shaken. Toyota service department said it was because the battery was not providing the correct voltage to a part in the braking system. Toyota replaced the battery ~3 months ago and we have never experienced any issue since. I would have never suspected the battery as the root cause.Sharing in the interest of safety.

THE BATTERY WORKS FINE BUT TH SIZE IS DIFFERENT FROM THE ORIGINAL BATTERY OF 2008 TOYOTA PRIUS HYBRID. ONCE INSTALLED IT SEEMED HIGHER THAN THE ORIGINAL AND THE TRUNK MAT WHICH COVERS THE BATTERY DID NOT SIT WELL OR FLUSH.

Mechanic had no problems installing it. Running great but of course in the first month that is to be expected.

Installed on my prius c 2014 , works great. Instalation is simple, requires minor bracket mod all together took me about 15 min.

I have a 2010 Prius. This fit perfectly and it had the whole for battery exhaust (I’m assuming because it’s in the cabin vs engine bay like a traditional car). Car fired right up, no problem at all. I also looked at my local autopart store, and even their generic batteries are about this same price point. Highly recommend, would forsure buy again.

Item arrived on time and securely boxed with protective foam on all sides, as well as top and bottom. The measurements were a little larger than my OEM battery, which required me to purchase a longer bolt and a stack of flat washers to allow the reinstallation of the hold down bracket, permitting the battery to be securely held in place without bouncing around. This battery is for the Prius with the smart key system and navigation; and those cars have a larger cradle and hold down bracket. Just be advised that if your prius is the base model, you may want to get this bracket (available for < $20 on the internet) when using this size of Optimus Yellowtop. The extra CCA and reserve capacity is worth having and you will be thankful the next time an interior light is left on by accident and the battery still starts your car. The battery was fully charged upon delivery and I used a YouTube video (there are several) to assure the installation went smooth.
I’m writing this review 41/2 years after installation of this yellow top battery, and it’s still going strong. I have had zero issues with the starting system, other than the map light being left on several times for 24+ hours and rendering the battery unavailable for use until a jump or charge is provided. Besides the abuse due to the map light or rear cargo light being left on, there are a few gismos this battery powers when the car is off, and the battery has always had enough power to get the car going, even after sitting for a week. The resting voltage is 12.7V, and hopefully I can squeeze 2-3 more years out of it. When I have used a charger, Mine has a setting for AGM batteries, so as to not damage the battery with too much current. AGM batteries are more sensitive to overcharging, and I suspect that’s the reason my first replacement with an OEM battery only lasted two years– using a regular battery charger to charge, and discharging it to < 10V by leaving an inside light on several times. The yellow top battery has been subjected to deep discharge more times than I care to say, and has recharged without an issue. I would definitely buy again, but the price has gone up $90+. Ouch!

Works great & installed okay. A little bit wider than my original by nearly 2 inches, from the positive terminal to the negative. The height and depth were the same. It fit okay, the negative terminal is closer to the back wall of the car than the original, but not a problem. The air hose popped on no problem, but it is a snug stretch. Everything clamped down okay like it was before. Took a little over an hour due to heart burn from leaning over. But there’s a video of someone changing it out in about 5 minutes. My battery even had over 12 volts already.
My original 2008 battery lasted 7 years. I probably could have kept using it even though it only had about 10 volts because it kept working if I didn’t blast my music, but I’ve drained it multiple times within the last year by pumping my music too loud and draining the battery below the threshold of starting the car. My base model 2008 Prius has some nice speakers that really kick out some thumping bass. 😉
I haven’t seen any MPG gain over my old battery as some people claim. But it does feel a bit more responsive, like it has more power when you have to punch it to pass someone.
To check your battery voltage without a volt meter, press the start button without pressing the brake to turn on the accessories without power to the car. Press and hold the Display button while tapping an empty area on the left side top and then bottom 3 times making a total taps of 6. You’ll need to tap through some menus to get to the battery voltage. Do a Google search to find how to properly get to that menu, because there’s also another way by using the head lights switch too.
All in all a great buy and easy to install.

A perfect replacement fit for my 2004 Toyota Prius. Works very nicely, no problems whatsoever, and somewhat less expensive than the OEM Toyota battery I purchased (which only lasted 2 years).
