Replaced the original plastic cover on my old CJ. This is awesome! Perfectly spec’d and went on great. Includes the thicker cork gasket. I had to tap two screws on the carb side of the head to install. Lucky for me, the blank starter hole was already there. I am fairly mechanical and this took about an hour to clean up the mess from the old one, to finishing this one

Valve cover works great replacing the factory plastic ones that crack and leak. Had to tap out a couple holes and install. Thirty minute job and did away with oil leaks.

Per Amazon I ordered this to go on my 1980 CJ5. It fits the 81 and up engine with the plastic valve cover. I now have a valve cover I cant return since I’ve gone past the return window.

the grommet and oil plug was included, so ordering separate not need, as was priced way to high anyways. Fit appears to be good but not tested yet for oil leak problems with these motors (83 Jeep 258 )

Easy install had to tap the threads on 2 hole on carb side of head and didn’t come with enough 1/4″×20 only supplied 2 needs 6 other than that nice product and read instructions you need to check baffle screws inside tighten as needed 😉

Really love this replacement valve cover. Had a real hard time to finding the right fit for my 87 jeep yj. Valve cover has a nice weighted construction to it and is provided with a super beefy cork gasket to seal the whole deal and keep those known oil leaks that the in-line 6 motors always tend to have. And also came with new black hardware to fasten and secure this great looking valve cover. I did have to drill and thread tap two holes into the left/driverside area of the head to make the holes match.

I loosened the bolts and used a pry bar to try to sneak this back bolt on but it just moves the rest of the holes out of place. Deciding whether to return and take a gamble on another or just drill this hole entirely too large.

This valve cover worked great. I’ve read about a dozen reviews about having to drill and tap the head…I drilled the valve cover instead. I just replaced the studs with longer ones and installed this cover like the plastic factory cover. It worked great and it looks great.

This WILL fit a YJ Wrangler with a 4.2 you will have to tap the 2 holes on the drivers side. Check to see if you already have bolts on the ends first. I can’t comment if it will fit if you have the bridge bolts that hold down the plastic cover mine had the plastic cover with bolts on the passenger side and one on each end with the nuts on the drivers side. Also remember to use gasket sealant and attach the cork gasket the night before you install this then use sealant on the head. Best $100.00 I ever spent. Fixed the leaking plastic valve cover.
