This is a new, not a rebuilt alternator. I have been hearing a noise when I start my mini-van first thing in the morning when things are still cold. It almost sounds like a stuck starter pinion but it doesn’t last long enough. I had already purchased a new serpentine belt and the tension adjuster and idler pulleys to try and get rid of the noise. The van has close to 200k miles and I think the alternator is the original, so I decided to order this to replace another potential noise maker on my van engine while I was replacing parts.
