A new one from the Dealer is around 400.00 to 600.00 Dollars.! The Dealer also sells a non John Deere starter for 145.00! It was a simple choice based on review from other people who also paid for This Starter!

I don’t know how long this starter will last, but it works great and actually cranks faster than the original starters on both of my 525 mowers. It bolted right up and has been working flawlessly since I installed it. The OEM was well over $500, so I was willing to take a chance and see what happened. I’m glad I did.
