This is a replacement for a Toyota 100 amp alternator but hidden away in the product description is the fact it is rated at 140 amps which makes it a good bargain at less than $90. I partially dismantled the unit and discovered it is a Denso style alternator with a dual wound stator featured rectangular wiring which means the stator slots can be packed more densely than older alternators using round wire. Denso style alternators pack more power into the same or smaller sized shell. Net result is you are able to produce more power to run your electrical devices such as a larger than stock stereo system. Basically this alternator is the same dimensions as the stock alternator but puts out 40% more current. Good bang for the buck particularly if you need to replace your Toyota’s alternator anyhow.
