Check your spring mounting pins for wear first. You might be able to get away with a lesser kit.
Though I did the over kill thing and also bought the crane cams 99600-1 kit.
If you are lazy like me, order both sets. If you like to climb over a five foot engine to work on the distributor for a look see (first) my hat is off to you.
But in my case it was below zero in the garage when the work was done.

Didn’t end up using the weights because I didn’t like the idea of haing to use the bushings and potentially hang up the movement of the weights. I did however use the springs on my existing MSD Streetfire HEI for SBC and they worked great. With the original weights and the medium springs from this set I was able to get all 32° of advance in by 2,900 RPM. Good set, little pricy, just wish I could buy the springs alone and save some $.
Hello it is me. –
This kit provides the widest options for recurving gm hei. Other kits I found did not allow for quick advance that would allow for all in by 3k rpm. Best option I could find without going to a 6al box.

It solved the problem I was having of to much timing at wide open throttle on my new MSD streetfire distributor on my street/strip sbc 350. Now my C10 pull just as hard in 3rd as 1st and 2nd…. went with the lighter springs due to a pretty radical solid roller cam.

The springs are good quality and that’s a nice price of mind in a 400 dollar distributor

This part is for HEI distributor only. Will not work with MSD billet distributors.

When using these weights along with the light copper springs, the springs are not strong enough to return the advance to the initial distributor setting. Also the total curve will not achieve the maximum mechanical advance that is advertised.
The medium and heavy springs will return the advance to the initial distributor setting, but of course, you are not going to get as much mechanical advance using the heavier springs.
The above issues apply to all brands of Chevrolet HEI advance curve kits. I have tried them all. Google this know issue.
The best thing to do is to keep your stock chevrolet weights and use the springs from these kits.
