I had installed these because I had an exhaust manifold crack and I heard that worn motor mounts could cause that. While swapping the manifold and the mounts out I did notice old mounts had a big crack in them.
These were relatively easy to install, but I did have to cut away a little bit of the rubber to get them to slide into the bracket. It was an easy fix and it wasn’t noticeable after installation. Once installed, I was very pleased with the looks and the function.
Since these are Polyurethane they are a bit more ridged and you can feel the engine more while your driving. Good or bad, I don’t know but I thought it was a bit cooler ride.
I think it was worth the money and I would recommend them. Hopefully I won’t have to change out any more cracked manifolds.

Seeing a lot of reviews about motor mounts not fitting or needing modifications. These bolted right up without issue. My jeep has a small lift and requires the motor sitting at an angle for drive line line up, I did have to loosen transmission mount and lift the it a bottle Jack to make it easier. But all in all these worked grate.

Looks and works awesome for 98 Jeep TJ. My engine not longer pulls or shakes during initial acceleration. Yes!!!
For installation, I jacked up the engine by using a car jack and piece of wood under the oil pan. Took all the bolts and hex nuts out (only remove one side at a time). For the new unit, I lubed the sides of the bushings (so it slides in easy), put the front bolt and rear hex nut on first, then used a screwdriver to assist with the hole alignment on the sides. Doing this took about 5-7 min each side.
In my opinion, if your bolts/nuts are in good condition, clean them up and reuse them. If you want everything to match, you’ll have to hit Lowes for some Grade 8 hardware.

I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ and the mounts were able to be installed with fabrication work. I was hoping they would be a clean swap but I brought them to a shop and was shown the above images. There was a notch that held the old motor mounts in place that had to be machined off in order to get the fit. It was able to be done pretty easily but more labor $$. So, at least for a ‘98 Cherokee XJ the mounts CAN fit but not out of the box. Otherwise they seem fine.

Perfect fit. Very tight but is easily pushed into place w a pry bar or hand into the fork mount.

I did the JKS 1.25″ body lift and 1″ motor mount lift to get rid of the ugly transfer case drop my jeep had when I bought it. The JKS kit is beautiful. Install was easy. While doing the install I noticed my 17 year old stock OEM rubber motor mounts were cracked and splitting. I reassembled the jeep with the broken motor mounts and drove it for about 3 weeks. During that time I noticed that it was these stock motor mounts, though not completely broken, were behind a lot of really bad issues including a knocking sound on take off that sounded like a front drive car with a busted CV joint.
The Prothane mounts are big, sturdy and well made. They installed on top of the JKS budget spacer no problem. They eliminated a whole slew of noises under the hood. The Prothane mounts LOOK AWESOME. Very nice and visible slightly from the side of the jeep through the wheel well.

Beware may require modification. Poor fit and build design. Parts appear to be quality built but the engineering is very disappointing. For the high price you should not have to expect to grind and modify the part and your vehicle to make it fit. I wasted several hours fighting it to realize it’s a design flaw. Going in the trash. Junk design I don’t recommend to buy.
