I have an 85 gallon tank that had to be moved in order to access the sending unit. Had to wait to get the tank as empty as possible, loosen all of the straps and steps to slide the tank for access. Everything went together ok and it seemed to work well at first. Then I noticed the gauge needle would swing wildly every so often then return to the correct reading. Over the past few weeks its gotten worse to the point where I’m going to have to change it out again. Its too much work to take a chance on another one of these units, maybe I just got a flaky one, I don’t know.

the unit can not be adjusted for anything between 10″ and 12 inches deep as a tank measurement. The unit is listed as being adjustable for this depth BUT IS NOT…

Really hate waiting got a part that does not do what the specifications says it will do……. ok how do I return this POS. Amazon why do you not verify the spec, if I wanted stuff that doesn’t fit i could of bought it on that “E” site.

It works but the quality is mediocre. The sensor end is quite bulky and has a hard time fitting into the tank.
As this is a solution to an obsolete part for a motorcycle I didn’t expect a perfect fit. Serious modifications will be required.

I adapted this to my 55’ ford customline. Very well built unit. Reads perfectly. Few reviews saying it’s not collapsible to 5”… ? I had no troubles. It actually collapsed to 4 1/2” minimum. Guess the buyers didn’t know you have to remove the bar to mount in a shallow tank. I even removed the five hole plate and used my 6 hole plate to mount in the factory tank.

The 0-90 version fit and works perfectly on my 1972 F100 Bumpside Ford Truck with the stock fuel gauge. Don’t waste your money on those expensive remakes.

Got it installed and tested with key on, worked fine, went for one test drive for a few minutes and it broke. The resistance values just goes all over the place, extremely quickly, so much so I was afraid it was going to break my gauge. Seems durability is not it’s strong suit. If I even just tap the car with my hand the resistance value goes crazy.

i had to modify it to use in my jaz fuel cell. I couldn’t see a way to shorten it down to about 10″ tall without cutting. no big deal. if you have a hot rod, or race car, i’m sure you can handle this. had to shorten the arm per the provided chart. then had to bend it a little. i got it reading accurately with my jegs electric fuel gauge at a 1/2 tank. So we’ll see how accurate it is once i fill up. Also tbd is how long it will last.
But for the cost of this so far it seems like winner, especially compared to the jaz replacement at 8x the cost. that only lasted a year….
