Since my generator does not have an oil filter I hope this will catch all the small particles it fit the unit perfectly

The first time I tried to screw in the cheap plastic dipstick provided with my Predator 3500, it stripped. I bought this metal one, and it works perfectly. Make sure to use a rag when the generator is warmed up to remove it.

This things awesome. The plastic one crossthreaded on me the first time I put it in, so I ordered this one and she works great. Grabs all the little metal bits that want to hang out in my oil and seals her tight. I will caution though, first time I went to check the oil was after it had been running for a bit and my God does that metal transfer the heat straight through and onto your fingers. So gloved or a cloth highly recommended, keep you from doing what I did and drop it under the porch and onto the dirt. Can’t say much on the longevity of it, only had the generator for a month or so now, but ima give it 5 stars anyway because it feels solid and id imagine the female end on the generator goes before this does

Some dude on you tube recommended this item to replace the cheap plastic dip stick / oil fill cap on the Harbor freight Predator 3500 generator. It just popped up on Amazon suggested for me when I was looking for the irridium spark plug he also suggested, so i bought it.
It has a magnetic tip, which will snatch some very small metal particles in the oil, but don’t expect much. About all that’s good for is to tell you that you HAVE metal particles (worn piston rings, crankshaft bearings wearing out, piston walls crumbling) in your oil and its time to change the oil! Because most of these small engine have no filter anyway!
It DID fit the threads and screw in quite nicely, and DOES work as a dip stick to determine your oil level, just as the cheap plastic one did that came with the generator!

I saw a YouTube video that recommended this item to replace my original oil plug in my Predator generator. I changed my oil once and noticed that there were dark metal shavings, very small, attached to the magnetic tip of the plug. Seems to work very well!
