This gasket is great for the 4L60e. I won’t use anything else, especially those weak cork ones that come with the service kits. Great value. And it fit perfectly and fixed my leak.

  2. Joe storm

Leaks with the old new rubber gasket. Drained the pain swapped the gasket and barely snugged the bolts and no leaks at all from this new transmission. order this gasket only if you want to drive your car without leaks.

  3. Trevor Anthony

Every paper and cork gasket I’ve used had leaked even using gaskacinch. This worked perfect and is re-useable if you need to work on the valve body.

I installed this on an old transmission pan that just would not stop leaking. This gasket solved the problem. Very sturdy material and easy to apply to the pan then install on to the transmission. It does cost more but worth it when you have an old classic car.

This seemed like a good idea at first. It is made of a steel center surrounded by ~ 1/16 inch of very rubbery silicone, so the whole thing is about 1/8″ thick. I installed this on a 4L60e in my Chevy truck.

What happens is when you tighten it down the rubbery silicone absorbs all the torque of the bolts, so you can’t use a torque wrench. When you tighten the bolts all the way around and come back to the first bolts in the series they are finger loose from the rubber compressing and you must keep re-tightening them several times, and they never get up to any measurable torque. Then after running the transmission for a while you notice the gasket is seeping oil, so you must tighten some more, and so on, then eventually you notice the squishy rubber is squeezing out from the sides. Then finally you see what I have in the pictures. The rubber is so squeezed out that it split and came off the metal core.

I used this on a cast aluminum pan with a flat gasket surface. It would be worse with a stamped steel pan that has a rib on the gasket surface. This thing is no good, and it’s going into the trash. I replaced it with a Fel-Pro #TOS-18663, the bolts torqued properly on the first pass and it sealed right up with zero seepage. Get the Fel-Pro gasket and stay away from this squishy rubbery thing.

Stop buying crap, spend a lil extra, and get what your vehicle needs….

  7. Doug

Worked well and stopped the leaks

  8. Drumhappy

This is great and well worth extra money. Installed a new pain on my 700R4 and installed with the Moroso pan gasket, no sealant needed just bolt it up, Torque it down and all done, Been on my K5 for 3 months and not one leak.
