UPDATE!!! Do NOT BUY… I had to replace them in April of this year, which is only 5 months after buying and installing them on my Z71!
If you see my first post, the comments below, the “Imma Die” feeling came back and at highway speeds. I have NEVER had such a bad experience with any shocks/struts before. Whatever the case may be, Monroe have better step up their game! In addition to maybe a better QA test, per my request and I’m sure plenty others, please have your shocks with better rubber gaskets/bushings and include the metal sleeves! if you need an idea, go and check out Gabriel’s line of shocks! They come with everything you need! I just bought another pair today bc my Rough Country front shocks after a few months are just too sloppy.
The dust covers of the Gabriel Max Controls’ were pliable rubber, not hard plastic, and they came with a thick, stiff bushings with the metal sleeves.
The old Monroes I threw in the trash bc I was so upset. I used to trust Monroes, but I don’t think I’m going back to them ever again.

This shock was SO easy to install and it made my truck feel safe again; no more uneasy “Imma Die” at highway speeds. It came with everything needed except tools to install it! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is bc that the factory units had a metal sleeve (about an inch to inch n a half long) which goes right over the stem nestled between the two rubber bushings. The other reason is bc the new bushings that comes with the new shocks are quite soft compared to the bushings that were on the old units. I should have taken pictures of it bc it looks like it’s squished to death! Haaha
I was hoping it was more rigid and came also with the sleeves. I would pay extra to have them! If you do have them, please send them and I will test them out for you…

Replaced my 2001 yukon slt stock shocks with 170,000k miles only. Will be changing the back soon. Cheapest upgrade with a dramatic increase shock absorption, better handling, much less nose diving. Drives like it did brand new. My mechanic charged me $90.00 for the work. Overal parts cost under $120.00. So for $210.00 you will have safer more enjoyable ride. Your passengers will thank you. Oh and breaking performance improved. Car is more stable. I love my yukon. Amazon has alot of stock part replacements. This one was worth it. Because of this experience i will always upgrade my shocks and struts. Old cars need love. The parts are affordable

I installed them on a 2002 Escalade 5.3L. My truck came equipped with air ride suspension but I converted over to regular shocks. I Installed Monroe heavy duty with the coil springs on the rear of the truck and I installed these Monroe Reflex on the front. The ride is superb and smooth and my overall truck height is great. Recommend buying the reflex.

My Tahoe has 217,000 miles on it and the front shocks were worn, not original but it has been some time since they have been replaced. I ordered and received them 3 days later, but I had received one correct shock and one incorrect one. Amazon corrected the problem and I had the other correct shock the next day installation was simple and I did right in the drive way took me about 15 minutes per side.

I purchased two of these shocks to replace the stock shocks on my RWD 2003 Chevrolet Suburban. Had about 160k on the originals and they really didn’t get too bad until the last 5k miles or so. Good original shocks. I’ll give them that. These Monroe shocks popped right in and now Cadillac drivers pass by me with a look of envy. Some even cry a little. Before I replaced them, when I would hit a bump, you’d think the Suburban came straight out of a hydraulic car jumping competition. My wife had to take Dramamine when we hit the road so she wouldn’t get seasick. And now Mario Andretti has nothing on me. I constantly pass Ferraris and Lamborghinis when taking corners. I should sign up for the next Grand Prix. So, it has drastically changed the body roll and handling, yet it still rides smooth enough that you can go rock crawling at 40 mph while balancing a large bowl of steaming ramen noodles and cup of coffee on your lap without hesitation. And the mice that live under the hood that would squeak at me when I went over bumps have settled down since I installed these new shocks. The compressed discs in my spine have since returned to normal as well. (The above statements just might be dramatized).

The point is, I think Monroe got it right with these. At least they function very well on the vehicle I applied them to.

They only took me about 30 seconds to install, too. You just have to add the other 29.5 minutes or so to that. I didn’t even use a jack. I just used a couple pythons to compress them enough to get them lined up and slid the bolt right in. The color reminds me of grey and black stuff. I like grey and black stuff. I like these shocks. You should buy them if you like shocks. Or if you like grey and black stuff.

I never buy new vehicles, so I wouldn’t be able to compare to the original shocks when they were new. I choose to buy used vehicles and spend a huge portion of time and money fixing the previous owner’s mistakes. It’s just too much fun. So maybe there are better shocks out there, but from my experience and from the price point, I have no qualms about this purchase.

    ****UPDATE: 11/30/17****
7 Months later and still riding as good as new.

Great shocks for an 05 Avalanche. Seem to be same as original ride with these.

  7. Rr

The product came in a timely fashion fit perfect and resolved my problem👍👍👍👍👍

  8. Coghan

As title states, these were perfect replacements for front shocks on an 03 Escalade. Arrived quickly. Packaging correct. Restored smooth ride. Best part is the price was less than half than at my local car parts place for the exact same shocks.
