In parentheses below you will see my original review. Well, circumstances have changed greatly since the review below. After receiving the replacement strut everything was fine for a month. Out of the blue, every time I turned the steering wheel a creaking sound appeared. I called DRIV and Amazon, and the service rep at DRIV agreed with me that the upper strut bearing was bad and the strut was replaced within 2 days. Again great customer service.
Now after a month, again the creaking sound is back and I have called DRIV and they are replacing the strut for the 3rd time. The DRIV customer service has been great and yes, they are standing behind their product, but replacing for the 4th time is getting old. 174,000 on OEM and there was no creaking sound. They just wore out. I’m deeply disappointed.
(Great products. Lifetime warranty. I’ve used Monroe Struts and shocks for 30 yrs, with no issues.
Put new struts on car in Nov. and 1 failed in June. I called and filed a warranty issue. Supplied them my order number and had a new strut on my porch within 4 days of the initial phone call. Awesome customer service!)

I bought a pair of these struts for my 2017 Ford Fusion. The first one went bad within 25 miles. It was squeaking/creaking very lousy when turning steering wheels. I got that one replaced under defective part. Now the second one of the pair is doing the same thing as the other one with only about 500 miles on it. I tried to exchange this one also but Amazon will not let me exchange it and only gives me 3 days to return defective one which is not possible because I won’t have one to put on the car by then. I am ordering another brand from a non-Amazon site and obviously wasted my money on these ones. DO NOT BUT THESE STRUTS. I would give it no stars if possible.

After my 4th installation I finally received a usable part. First part was the wrong part, next two had defects. First had bad upper bearings, second had a leak from the cylinder. The 4th part I had to retap the upper mounting nuts. These nuts are poorly tapped and pressed in even worse. The threads jammed so hard it loosened the press fit. Garbage parts, stay away!

The threads on the strut mount are pressed in. You can’t tighten the strut to the cars strut mount because they keep spinning. I tried three different ones and they all had the same problem.

Poor quality. The top mount threaded inserts are not adequately pressed in and spun when trying to tighten bolts. Using pressed in inserts is a cheap short cut that saves the manufacturer money. Quality struts have a welded nut or threaded holes for the top mount screws. Had to remove the inserts (see photo) and used nuts and bolts to secure top of strut. Save yourself a lot of time and grief and buy a different brand.

Was defective from the first drive. Made noise with every bump and turn. Couldn’t easily get replacement so I just purchased another one. Luckily it was made better. I do not expect this set to last long. Will not buy again.
