Life is so much easier with a quick strut. Why pay for just a new strut when you can get a complete assembly for almost the same price and not need to deal with the spring. This tightened up the body bounce on the front end of my 2009 ford fusion and improved handling some… yes, your’e supposed to inspect/replace struts every 50k miles on most vehicles, but you don’t see it listed in the factory maintenance manuals.

The strut assembly is fine and seems to be well constructed. The reason I give it 1 star for insulation is because it comes in a couple inches longer than the originals. This makes it near impossible to install into the strut fork in my application. I was able to eventually get it installed by dropping the upper control arm and compressing it with a long bar. I haven’t installed the opposite side but picked up a strut spring compressor that should help out. This was installed on a 2007 Lincoln MKZ.

Struts are good and it was easy to install if you have the DIY mentality. The only reason I gave this 4 out 5 stars is because one of the struts was missing a boot/cover. I could of removed one from the old strut but that would mean I had to remove the spring. That was the whole point of buying a completed set.

The strut assy that came on the fusion/MKZ was short lived due to Ford’s poor quality. Their technical service bulletin fix lasted about 3 months and then was worse than before. These complete assemblies got rid of all the problems and the car now handles well is quiet. Product was well manufactured and met all my needs.
