Initially, I was going to replace just the strut cartridge and reuse the springs. However, due to time constraints I opted for the Monroe Quick-Strut #172245 purchased through R**K A*T*. It was quick to replace 3 nuts on top, 1 bolt for brake line and ABS sensor and 2 nuts/bolts at steering knuckle. No need to compress springs. I thought great, but the smooth ride lasted less than 7 months. Luckily, I kept the old struts/springs and replaced cartridges with KYB #333385, couldn’t be happier. You may have better luck, but I personally think Monroe has poor QC. Learn from my mistake!

I ordered struts and shocks for all 4 wheels because I was tired of the rough rides I was getting from the previous one. BUt sadly, after wasting almost $600 on the new monroe struts (and installation), my car rode just as rough as the previous worn out struts. I felt every little bunp and imperfection on the road. Don’t waste your money on this. Please learn from my mistake and run away as far as your legs can carry you.
