  • COMPATIBILITY – Fits 1997-2002 Ford Expedition
  • GET THE RIGHT PART — Before purchasing, research to ensure that the part will fit your vehicle; enter all vehicle information (year, make, model, engine and trim) for compatibility and check qualifier notes
  • REDUCES SAG UNDER LOAD — Ideal for occasionally hauling or towing varying loads; heavy gauge, calibrated coil spring reduces sag when loaded up to 1,200 lbs. (capacity limited by suspension, tires and transmission; see owner’s manual)
  • EXCEPTIONAL HANDLING — Tuned specifically for each application, full-displaced valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide ride consistency
  • CONSISTENT RIDE — OE all-weather fluid contains special modifiers to handle extreme temperatures and PTFE-banded piston helps reduce friction between the piston and pressure tube to enhance responsiveness to changing road surfaces
  • LONGER SERVICE LIFE — Self-lubricating fluid seal retains gas and reduces excessive friction against the piston rod to help reduce premature wear while heavy-duty nitrocarburized rod delivers long life
  • IMPROVES PERFORMANCE — Nitrogen gas-charge maintains tire-to-road contact for improved ride and handling by reducing aeration and shock fade

I purchase these shocks on almost every vehicle that I’ve owned whether on my F150, Expedition, Mercury, or Lincoln (older vehicles). The springs help support older coil springs which weaken over time.
The shocks have variable rate coil springs on the outside of them so they ride soft but the more weight you put in the vehicle the more support they give… no more sagging in the back of the car when you load up your car for a trip with all your luggage and family. They’re super. These shocks add 1500 pounds of extra load capacity.
Best thing is they are Made in the USA… at least for now. Gabriel shocks also make some coil over shocks but I believe it said that they are made overseas.

I have a 2002 Navigator. Although Amazon says these do not for. They work perfect. Only if you have removed the problematic air suspension. I replaced everything with the Monroe kit. I noticed that the rear still had a soft feel and wobbled a not too much for me. I bought these because they say that add over 1200lbs in extra load capacity. The Navi and the Expedition are identical underneath. They worked perfect. Rear is back to stock height and it stiffened it up like a truck should feel. I would recommend this for anyone that does the air conversion kit!

  3. Amazon Customer

Provides good stability without a harsh ride. Raised the rear a few inches on my 2000 Ford Expedition without any extra weight.

On my vehicle, the Cup that the upper end of the spring sits in interfered with the Upper Eye Frame Bracket preventing alignment of Shock Eye and Bracket Hole.

I compressed the Shock/Spring against the frame using the floor jack and kept it compressed with heavy fence wire. This allowed the Interfering Cup to drop down a few inches so the mounting bolt could pass through the upper eye and bracket.

With Jack Stands under the frame, the wheels removed and a Floor Jack under the Differential and lowered all the way, the Lower Eye of the Shock was easily pried into the Axle Bracket by using using a Pry Bar between the Eye and Bracket to compress the spring about an inch. A second jack could have done the job.

Note that the shocks keep the rear axle from falling a long distance when the vehicle is raised. Always support the axle, one way or another, when removing either one or both shocks.

    1999 Ford Expedition 4×4

Used for towing once and some gentle logging roads. Shocks failed within 1 year, and rattle like hell over any pothole. Get regular shocks.

  5. SkullRider

Put these on my 2000 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer they hold the truck up well lifted it about an inch or two rides really nice. I no longer ride in a rocking chair lol. Passenger side rear went on nice driver side rear shock with a bit of a pain, fuel tank in the way. But the shocks were worth it.

  6. Michelle Corner

Was a little hard to put in on the driver’s side rear. Due to the top bolt and not being able to get a socket on the bolt or nut. Used two wrenchs and and some elbow grease. Put top on first use jack to push shock into place. Make sure use a crowbar to open flange, sometimes impacts close it up and new shocks hang a bit. There is a video on you tube.
With that being said these coil over shock are solid. A value for money, it fits with some work and the performance if you replace your coils springs is significant improvement from the wobble of loose spring sag. I also put in 1 inch pucks also available on Amazon.

  7. MGC

Easy to install. Stiffens the rear up a bit, but not bad.

    Very good shocks.

    Excellent

Happy so far … I installed these for a couple of reasons … 1. My 2001 Expedition was sagging a bit in the rear and 2. I pull a travel trailer in the summer … I was hopeful the Load Adjusting part would help … I measured before and after the shocks were installed (which a friend and I did) and they lifted the rear by 1/2 inch, doesn’t sound like much but it does look better … I haven’t yet pulled the trailer so I can’t comment on that part yet but I am optimistic … as for the ride, haven’t noticed much difference … as for the install, not too bad ( took and friend and myself about 1 1/2 hours) but here are a couple of things I learned … make sure to remove the wheel and set jack stands. You will need to get under the vehicle and you want to be confident it won’t fall and I needed to use a socket wrench with a breaker bar (extended pipe in my case) to get enough leverage to break the nuts, once the bolts are out and you remove the shocks, the nut is a clip and it will fall, so when you go to install the new shocks you will need to add a sticky substance of some kind or have someone hold it from the outside to keep it in place … Also, once the nuts were broken I used an air compressor socket to remove the nut/bolt … it would have taken quite a while without Especially the driver’s side rear … there isn’t
much room to work because of the gas tank … hope this helps … thx
