I used to use a chamois. Not anymore. This towel is superior for drying off my vehicles. Chamois works great, but is slower and a pain to have to keep wringing it out. Also, if you run your chamois across some grime that you missed washing your car, it is harder to clean. With this micro fiber towel, you just toss in the washing machine (tip…use no fabric softener). Very nice towel.

Opened package and the first thing I noticed was the wet and slimy texture, the second which is just as bad was the pungent smell. I ran the chamois under water to see if that helped with the texture and smell but it didn’t. Will not be using this and definitely will not buy from this seller again.

It’s been a long time since I used a traditional chamois. Lately I’ve been using waterless wash with microfiber towels to mop up, no real drying needed.
When I can wash the car how I really want to, I hook up the deionized water system, get out the foam cannon, wash and then some kind of wax.
When I’m “doing it right” this Magna Shine micro/chamois combo as a spot in the lineup. After washing it’s best suited to do the majority of the drying. Wring it out intermittently and get 95% of the water. After that, use a thicker microfiber “drying” towel. Then get to wax on/wax off.
Could you get all the way dry with this hybrid? Maybe, but I want the surface to be bone dry when I’m done.
I actually really like it as part of the lineup. My biggest problem when washing the car (detailing really) is it drying from heat/sun before I can get it properly dried. (That’s why I got the DI system, to reduce the prevalence of spots/streaks). This towel is well suited to exterior drying with a quickness.
The listing says you can use it inside the car, but that doesn’t make sense to me. Keep it’s purpose pure. Keep it clean. Store it damp (I don’t know what bag or tube they’re talking about, it didn’t come with one). Keep it grime free. You’ll like the way your car looks.

I love the size of this drying towel. It is very absorbent and I can dry the whole car with it. This washes and dries well and is easy to use. The material holds a lot of moisture and it’s like an extra large towel.

I thought this was going to be a large microfiber towel that would be useful in drying and polishing my car. Its not a cotton microfiber towel. It IS just as capable of absorbing a large quantity of water; it might be capable of absorbing more water. After hand-washing my car, I used it to dry the car and did not have to wring it once (until I was done). The only downside is that the instructions say it must be stored damp in a plastic bag. I don’t know what will happen to it if it is allowed to dry completely and then stored, but its not a big deal to store it that way. My car was clean when I used it to dry it, so there was no need to clean the towel. Since the towel was already wet, I just wringed it and put it in large zip-lock bag.

I got this for drying my car after washing as well as drying my shower after use, since I don’t wash my car very often.
The first time I used it though was for drying my car that hadn’t been washed in many months and was quite dirty. I must have missed some patches with my soap sponge, as the drying towel got some dirty marks on it.
I followed the instructions and rinsed the towel with warm water before its first use and wringed it out. During use the towel did an excellent job of absorbing water from my car and leaving it streak free. It was relatively easy to wring out, with the large size being the only obstacle. I sprayed some soapy water on it and rubbed the towel to get rid of the dirty marks and then rinsed it with water and it came clean.
Additionally, I have used the drying towel to wipe water off the walls of my walk-in shower after use. I find that the large size, over twice the size of the towel I was formerly using, made quick work, and much better water absorption than I was used to.
After use I rinse it with water, wring it out and then hang it with a clip hanger to dry. It gets dry very fast and I just do a quick rinse to rehydrate it and a wring prior to the next use.
