used everything the way i was supposed too and after i installed a pioneer radio i have nothing but issues my radio gets hot my radio fases out randomly i cant hook up subs to my radio all new the harness was easy to use but its not working the way it was intended i wiwh i could have gotten the bus controller to keep the factory amp because without it im now preety much screwed edit: after some trail and error it turns out that new radio I bought was defected so I took it back and now everything works as it should only recommendations is you should change your speakers out or get bass blockers most likely ur factory soewkers won’t be able to handle a deck without amp and blow I bought 4 3 way 6x9s and installed them and chose to just leave out the back tweeters and dash tweeters they would be hell to hook into the set up anyway with my 4 6x9s and 2 kicker cvrs she sounds nice

Years ago i had crutchfield sell me a Kenwood radio and the perfect harness to keep it running through the Boston Acoustics amp in my 2005 Grand Cherokee.
Recently all i had running were the front tweeters. (Checked all audio related fuses which were good)
Got this harness and have more control over sound than before, and all speakers are back running (did buy a bass blocker from crutchfield to tie the tweeters in too)
I’d be tempted to say that i should probably have just bypassed the amp when I first got the Kenwood BT-312U “radio” (usually it’s phone via BT that’s running, never radio)
Since i had the old harness power the radio through ACC perfectly i didn’t run power with the included bits from this kit and use this just to run audio to the speakers, everything working flawless now. So if you had the amp working with the old kit, yes, keep power, connect speakers and through bass blocking caps the tweeters and get your old crumbly Grand Cheroke playing Volkor X again.

Perfect for a 2006 Dodge Magnum with the Boston Acoustic system. And probably 100 feet of extra wiring.

I recently installed this in my 06 Charger and it works awesomely. My car originally came with the 6 speaker Boston Acoustics package so after I replaced all the speakers it wasn’t working as I wanted it to. The lower door speakers are setup in the factory amp to output lower frequencies while the front dash speakers are for the higher frequencies.
To add to the complications of the setup, I replaced the factory radio with a Pioneer AVH-2550NEX and have it hooked up using a Maestro RR and the HRN-RR-CH2. I kept that installed as normal but just disconnected the speaker wires fron the HRN-RR-CH2 harness and connected them straight to the Metra 70-6504 harness. I followed the wiring diagram that Crutchfield provides on their website for the Metra harness and it said to connect the front speaker wires that come from the radio harness to both the front door and front dash speakers. After I got it all setup I did a factory reset on my radio and set it to use the standard instead of network (I believe it’s what tells the radio there is a factory amp) and it works perfectly.
The harness has a lot of length due to it being a universal kit (some cars have the amp in the rear area) so I cut a few feet off of it before I spliced and installed it. The gray plug that has the Black and Yellow wires was not used as well as the red power wire.

Labeling all of the wires on this would make things a LOT easier. I am color blind and can’t just randomly guess which wires go to which. Speaker wires are labeled on the wire jacket, why can’t the rest of them be labeled? All in all, it worked great, but was a beating to get some of the non speaker wires hooked up correctly. Maybe send some instructions in the bag with it too…took me an hour to find a good PDF of the instructions online.

I didn’t use it because jeep don’t have amplifier but is ok. I should have check my vehicle before buying. Lesson learned.

Hace un puente adecuado entre el amplificador y la conexión directa

This does NOT fit my 2006 dodge Durango 4.7L V8 AWD. My car does NOT have the amplifier that came in SOME models, nor the subwoofer. This has 4 connectors, my radio had 2 connectors and the antenna. I’m trying to install an aftermarket alpine stereo with amplifier and subwoofer. This is the first time I’ve had a harness not work, I’ve used these on at least 5 other vehicles, but this is not happening, they don’t remotely fit in any form of arrangement.

Although I was nervous to go off of Amazon’s ‘compatibility’ list, I ordered it in a panic. I taped it in a harness tape, and fed it from my amp to my radio. Crutchfield has a diagram for this particular harness, speakers match up as normal except for the tweeters (make sure you get a bass reducer, about $10) This was easy to install, high quality, and exactly as described. After weeks of fighting with my radio/amp this bypass has fixed all my issues. I attatched Crutchfields manual on this harness in hopes to make your install less stressful than mine was.
