I have many microfiber cloths, body cloths and those used for household cleaning. Even though I laundered them per manufacturer instructions, I noticed that they became less absorbent over time and would begin to smell pretty quickly. I decided to try this product, and I am pleasantly surprised! Absorbency was restored, and the cloths just looked and felt cleaner. It was as if I had new cloths again. I am so happy I decided to give this a try!

Having tried several brands of “microfiber specific soap”, I can say without a doubt, that the McKee’s is the best ever. Really filthy microfibers come out of the dryer with only a shadow of a stain, soft and static free, about as clean as you can imagine. Older microfibers that were previously washed and reused with other cleaners, now come out of the wash and dryer looking like they’ve been rejuvenated. I have a collection of 60 microfibers for the auto detailing that I do, and McKee’s 37 Microfiber Cleaner has just given them all a new lease on life.

I like this and it works better than say Griots cleaner. I think it could be stronger at removing minor stains and the chemical smells from the microfiber towels I use when detailing my cars.

When I purchased microfiber cloths for washing my car, I was not aware that a special detergent was needed to keep its absorbency and fluff — but using McKee’s (albeit I did have to send them through a few times to get the little debris that was imbedded in them) made them almost as good as new again. I did think it was silly to have to buy special detergent for these ‘rags’ – but the proponents of it made sense, and McKee’s seemed like the best value out there. It would be nice if this type of product was available at my local supermarket or even auto-parts store — but no one had ever heard of a special detergent for micro-fiber cloth in my area, even those that sold the cloth. Reading reviews from people who washed them in standard clothes detergent convinced me that this product is needed – and microfiber cloths do an excellent job making my car sparkle, so I guess it is all part of the package.
RUTTER –
I never realized that I couldn’t just use my regular detergent on my microfiber towels… I recently went to dry off my car and saw that my towel seemed to be pushing the water around as opposed to absorbing it. I looked it up and found that the towels hold up much better with a microfiber cleaner. I figured my old towels were going to be a loss and I’d have to restart my collection.. But I bought this McKees cleaner and washed the ‘ruined’ towels in it. I can’t believe it restored them and rejuvenated them back to their original absorbency potential. Really glad. This is worth so much to me as I didn’t have to replace all of those towels. Won’t make that mistake again! This sits right next to my detergent now in the wash room for these special loads.

I take some concentrate and keep in a spray bottle. Spray down heavy stains. I always soak my towels in a bucket with 1-2 oz of cleaner. Pre spraying and soaking helps remove the toughest of grime.

I used different types of microfiber towels to detail my cars. I tried this cleaner (16 fl oz for $14.99) to remove the grease, heavy dirt, and stains that are left on them after a job. After reading several recommendations online and some youtube videos, I first soaked the microfiber towels for 24-hrs on 2 different buckets, each with a dirt grit, with detergent and hot water to release the heavy dirt. The next day they looked pretty ok, although the places where there were heavy stains and grease still looked stained. I used a scrubber to try to loosen up the heavier dirt and grease left and then I threw them on the washer and run a hot water cyle with more detergent. They came out much better, but the detergent did not remove the stains on them. The pictures on the description of the “before” and “after” are deceiving. I gave this rating a 3 stars because it only did a partial job on the towels and it was pricey for 16 fl oz. The towels with light stains and dirt came out very clean with no stains at all but the ones with moderate to heavier dirt and grease came out clean and stained. I believe the formula can be improved with better stain removal properties.
